On tap at JH. Pours a clear dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of citrus and sweet malt. Flavor of apple skins and other light fruits, sweet malt, and a light hoppy bite. Extremely smooth and easy drinking. Nice rye ale!

Poured a deep amber hue with a one finger off white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a spicy rye malt with a touch of balancing sweetness.

The taste consisted of a strong upfront rye spice with a lightly sweet background malt. A good hop appearance toward the end.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness with a dry finish.

Overall a nice and spicy rye ale. Good drinkability.

Brew was cloudy, amber and bright with a chunky white head. Aroma was slightly sweet, but also with a hint of the bitter rye.

Smooth, subtle, and enjoyable. The rye flavor is subdued, and the beer's fruity sweetness come center stage. A very mild hop bitterness is apparent in the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy and medium-full. An enjoyable rye beer from JH.

The beer pours an amber/red color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is outstanding! It has a very nice malt scent that boasts of crystal, and rye malts. It's got some sweetness, but the spicey rye aroma makes this beer. It's peppery and compliments the pale and crystal malts. The taste is decent. It has a thin, malty flavor taste that revolves around the rye and crystal malts. Again, the spiciness is up front with just enough crystal malt balance. The mouthfeel is good. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a pretty good beer. The rye character is well pronounced. The spiciness really rounds out what would usually be just an average amber ale.
