This is a good porter, but I think they used a bit too much of the vanilla. It is such a strong flavor that a decimal amount is required. A blackish color with a tan head. The smell has a nice porter behind a sweet vanilla and chocolate front. The vanilla is too powerfull for me. A medium body goes down smooth if not for the syrupy vanilla. Too artificial tasting. The vanilla really hurts the beer.

Tried this at the brewery, and of the three I tried (On-On and Milk Stout), this was my favorite. The dark brown opaque brew had a very good and lasting head. The aroma was of vanilla beans and chocolate. The flavor complemented the aroma of a chocolate malted porter with a strong sweet vanilla component. The drinkability of this brew is excellent and worthy of another trip to the brewery. I recommend this beer.

Appearance - nice black beer with a light tan head that lasted to the end.

Smell - yummy vanilla scent that reminded me of root beer.

Taste - just the right amount of vanilla that did not overpower the light to medium body of the beer.

Mouthfeel - smooth, silky and creamy.

Drinkability - you cannot say smooth too much in describing this beer. it went down easy and tasted very well balanced. no bitterness. the flavor lasted deliciously in the palate well after the beer was finished.

This is a very under-rated beer and brewery. The powers that be need to give these guys a tasting.
You're missing out if you're in the Springs and don't give this one a chance. A growler full is coming home with me at my next visit.

Edit - did take home a growler full on the third or fourth visit...friends loved it. I also tried the vanilla porter and raspberry wheat mix and it put me on Cloud 9, couldn't help but drink more than I planned to - it was good!

Pours an effervescent mahogany with minimal white head. (Had more head on draft, but got call them like I see'm). A faint hint of lacing & no head retention

S: Vanilla beans & cocoa

T: Toasted malt & vanilla & a little iron up front. Oakyness & mocha follow with this ale warming. Finishes dry with restrained vanilla, roasted grains & a little chocolate sweetness

MF: Medium-bodied, smooth with low carbonation

Drinks very easy for the abv, easily the best vanilla porter I've had. I'm thinking extra body makes the difference. I believe this brewery deserves way more attention than it's received to date
