Q-These places are all over town, and pretty consistent in what they offer. At least one has undergone renovations, and it looks a lot better. The quality is overall slightly above average compared to similar chains. I don't buy beer here often, but everything I have purchased has been fresh.

Service-The employees leave you alone unless they are giving out free samples, and unfortunately, free samples never include beer. They can help you find something, but don't expect much more.

S-Don't expect to find anything too specialized unless it's from the state. You can find some decent regional microbrews, the import selection is modest, and again, a little better than most comparable grocers. Most macrobrews are available, and seasonal selections rotate in from local breweries.
I only come to Copps when I'm in the area for something else, since I can find most of their products elsewhere for less. However, quality sets them above their competition...not really in beer, but overall in groceries and produce. I don't come here for the beer, but I usually end up grabbing some when I'm here.

V-Prices are lower than most places, and border on the verge of inexpensive. However, there are stores around here with better selection, and slightly lower prices.

Your basic macro selection and typical micro selections, but with a bit more of an extensive local micro selection. I have found some limited release 4 and 6 packs at Copps (eg-New Glarus and Tyranena) that have been difficult to find elsewhere...and at competitive prices.

The stock always seems to be fresh, at least from the items I have purchased.

Not a full-service liquor store, so I left that as average. You're pretty much on your own, which is fine.

Prices are decent and you can pick up some good meat to grill with your beer.

The numerous Copps grocery stores in town are not really BeerFly worthy. You're mostly going to find competitively priced macros and a small selection of local craft beers. Unless you're looking to stock up on New Glarus (They have Belgian Red, Rasp. Tart, and Unplugged) at a good price, I would skip Copps and head to a local liquor store.

In the case of the Copps on Whitney Way, you are only a short drive from either of the two Steve's locations.

You problably won't get any assistance but you problably won't need it.

Q- the place is alright, there is a reasonable selection of beers if you don't have much experience. their wine selection isnt bad, but except for new glarus, an occasional sprecher, nothing special is carried.

S- their workers aren't really the most knowledgeable about what the beer companies are doing. they tend to be quiet and leave you alone, which is fine enough for me.

Sel- their selection is what you would expect from a grocery store, carries anything thats big, macros abound, their micro selection includes new glarus, some sprecher, point, and a couple other wisconsin beers.

V- what this place is good about is that the beer is much cheaper than some other places, new glarus is especially cheap, however for the selection that the other beer stores, like steve's, ide rather pay the extra to help support them

Copps Food Center was the closest place we found to the bus station when we were in town for Great Taste and had headed via bus to get to JT Whitney's.

The Food Center doesn't actually sell beer, it is the liquor store beside it that takes care of that. The surprize was the beer selection. Many WI breweries were represented. Of course they had some of the macros, but they also had a pretty decent selection of imports from which to choose.

I'd certainly hit Copps again, the selection was better than average. Lots of local beers and decent prices. A win-win all around.
