Fenian's is a little bit of Ireland in the heart of Mississippi. Authentic Irish Food and a proper pint of Guinness, Harps, Smithwicks or a score or two of other great brews. The atmosphere inside this pub has the feel of an authentic public house. This is one of my favorite places to spend a little time with old and new friends alike.
A couple of nights a week and at least one day a week at lunch you can enjoy live entertainment. I have never had a bad meal and the beer is always cold served by warmly hospitable servers. Try their beef boxty or scotch egg and you too will think this is a great little pub.

As the other reviewers have noted, Fenians' approximation of the Irish or UK pub vibe is fairly believable. It's a small, cozy place, but when we went we easily found a table. The place has a bit of a battered, worn-in feel, but it works well for the atmosphere it's trying to present. The service was fine. Selection was much less impressive, even for Jackson, but I guess you don't go to Fenian's for the selection. Guinness, Smithwicks, Harp and a few others on draft. Value was about the same as The Bulldog, maybe a little more expensive.
If you want the best selection, check out The Bulldog. If you want a better atmosphere (in my opinion), and are willing to accept the limited selection, check out Fenian's.

Jackson is a bit of a wasteland for beer fans so Fenian's is a reasonable choice to escape from the proliferation of chain restaurants in this area. It is located in an old neighborhood not far from downtown. The interior is a reasonable American adaptation of an Irish pub. The beer selection is poor... nothing local and only large import macros (Bass, Harp, Blue Moon, Guinness). The service is congenial enough though the crowd was clearly only locals. They were out of their stout cheese that I really wanted to try but my meal (sausage and cheese platter) was pretty good.

Fenian's differs from Public Houses that I visited in the UK in that they offer nightly live music. But, other than that, it's what I think a pub should be.
I've always been very pleased with their pub food. And they have fried dill pickles that rock, even if that may not be traditional pub fare. They do serve more traditional dishes like shepherd's pie and irish stew, which I've enjoyed. Their website has a food menu along with prices.
Fenian's doesn't boast an extensive beer selection, and to a beer enthusiast it would be merely average at best, based on quantity. Guinness, Harp, some ciders and a several others that I can't remember off the top of my head (their website doesn't include their beer menu). But, I've always found it to be the closest thing I've ever been to in this part of the country that resembles a pub. And by "pub", I mean a place that you go to chat with the folks you came with and, more than likely, anybody around you. It's the anti-meat market.
I'd say that if you're in Jackson by yourself, Fenian's is the place to go if you want some friendly conversation, good music and good food followed by some good beer.
