Gavora's is a decent sized liquor store tucked in a stripmall right off the Steese Highway. The store is well organized at first appearance; booze to the left, wine to the right and a full wall of coolers filled with beer on the back wall. Selection was an eclectic mix of Alaskan and West Coast offerings. They had several limited edition brews still hanging around. I liked the selection, but I wondered how many of these limited brews they actually move and how well cared for the stock is. Staff informed me that they have a buy six discount on beer, wine and booze. After aggressively seeking out other stores in the area, this one had the best selection if you are looking for a wide range of brews. Prices were reasonable for Fairbanks, Alaska, but may seem spendy for out of towners. (791 characters)

Clerk's are always friendly and helpful. Very good selection that evolves rapidly enough to keep me coming back. Frequent specials of interesting beers. (154 characters)

Gavora's has greatly improved in the last year. While a big part of that is just improved distribution to Alaska, they've gone above and beyond to make themselves the go-to destination in Fairbanks for craft beer.

The large cooler at the rear of the store houses about half multipacks (about half of which is standard BMC offerings) and about half bombers. Definitely the best selection in town, and new stuff shows up somewhat frequently.

The best addition has been the 24-tap growler bar. Good prices on fills, and most handles are good craft that isn't really seen anywhere else in town.

They've recently expanded the homebrew section, and it's quite impressive.

This place is a must-hit if you're in Fairbanks and looking for beer. Super friendly and helpful staff, as well. (786 characters)

Found this place while up in Fairbanks for work. I came up right as the guy was unlocking the door and he was very nice and helpful. Funny enough, he is from Mississippi too so that was kind of weird...

Anyway, selection is good, especially for someone from Mississippi and prices seemed fine. I didn't look at the rest of the store which seemed to have the standard wine and spirits stock. However they had some nice homebrew and home wine making books right up front. They also have a nice selection of homebrew equipment by the way. Recommended, (549 characters)
