Stopped in for dinner last night after having a few beers at Hyland/Pioneer. Service was just aweful. We wanted to sit outside and there was one empty table that would have held our party of 3, but we were told that it was reserved. The entire time we ate inside we could see that the table outside was unoccupied, even when we left. Beer selection was OK, but our chili nachos arrived without chili. When we told the waitress this there was no response. Took over 45 minutes to get our main course on a night when half of the tables inside were empty. Ordered a glass of water after the first beer and did not get it for 20 minutes. Even getting our bill took way too long. If it was a busy night I could understand the challenges, but it was not close to busy. Suffice to say I will never go back.

Stopped in at Admiral T.J. O'Brien's Pub for lunch on a Sunday during a road trip it was a good choice. Pretty quiet on Sunday around noon (only a few diners in the dining area, and about 3 guys at the bar), but very family friendly at that hour. Looks like they have nightly entertainment, and Im sure the place livens up quite a bit . . .
Heres what was on tap during our visit:
Hyland Amber Ale, Pioneer Pale Ale, and Farmhand Ale
Sam Adams Summer
I had a couple Hyland Pale Ales (the Farmhand tap was broken at the time, so I couldnt try that) with my spicy mesquite grilled turkey burger delicious! My wife had a burger and fries (also very good), and the kids had the grilled chicken sandwich and some spinach ravioli. The menu must have changed since the first review the food was much better than most pub fare. Service was great very prompt and friendly (Sarah, our waitress, was outstanding!).
If you are in the area, Id definitely recommend a visit much more fun that other touristy-type places in the area. Another plus is that Yankee Spirits is right across the road . . . If youre in the area, check it out.

Stopped at T.J. O'Brien's with a few co-workers for dinner and a few drinks. They had a fair selection on tap, with a couple of local (as in home town) brews on tap. Quality of the beers was excellent. The food was fantastic, and the Irish coffee night-cap was made with a very generous dose of Jameson's. I recommend the clams if they're available. Kaitlyn (spelling?) was an excellent waitress as well. Decent selection in bottles as well, although I stayed with the local Hyland offerings on this visit. Worth a stop if you're in the Sturbridge/Brimfield area.

Admiral TJ OBriens is situated right outside the entrance to the Old Sturbridge Village. Nice area due to the proximity to the OSV village and hotels, etc.
It has a pretty good selection of brews and food. Nice pub atmosphere with a number of locally brewed beers, Berkshire Brewing Company, and live music on the weekends. Can get the normal Macro crap if you like but have a pretty wide selection of imports and American micros. Food was pretty good, and they have a nice selection. Most is your typical greasy pub fare, but also have some regular entries.
For being in a somewhat resort/tourist area it is more on the lines of your local pub/watering hole. Nice change of scenery from the regular touristy restaurants.
Place looks to get pretty hopping on the weekends but over all a nice place to stop in for a brew or five!
