500 ml bottle, bought at Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. ABV is 3.9%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Nice hoppy aroma, notes of fruits, berries and pine forest. The flavour is zesty and fruity with a nice hop character, some citrus notes, a piney bitterness in the finish. I’ve said it before: I’m a sucker for golden ales like this one, with their moderate ABV and refreshingly hoppy character.

A: The beer is clear dark golden yellow in color and has the slightest hints of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that quickly faded away, leaving just a bit of delicate lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: The nose has lots of fruity aromas of yeast along with some hints of herbal hops.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but also has slight hints of toast from the malts. No bitterness is perceptible, but there are enough hops to mask any sweetness.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a very low amount of carbonation (almost as if you were drinking this from a cask).
O: The low alcohol content of this beer makes it very easy to drink and sessionable. I wouldn't mind having a few of these in a sitting because the fruity flavors are interesting.

Appearance: The pale golden liquid is covered by a rather modest layer of foam, though it does leave a few strands behind

Smell: Biscuity, grainy and layered with a bit of tea-like hops

Taste: Biscuity, up front, with a grainy character that develops along with a fruity hop aspect through mid-palate; after the swallow, the hops add a tea-like element, as well

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Always like a flavorful session ale, and this one fits the bill to a T

From the 500 ml. bottle with an expiration date of Dec 2012. Sample on April 21, 2012. Served about 45 degrees. The color is golden yellow with a short-lived off white head and a slightly cloudy appearance. The aromas are grainy malts, yeast, and a twist of citrus. The texture of the body is creamy and it is in light to medium range. The taste also exhibits a grainy flavor but it tends to be more bitter at the end than you might expect. A decent enough session beer just like the label suggests.

Light golden yellow that almost borders on straw with a thumb sized, bubbly white head and average retention.

Light and fruity smelling with some nice citrus notes and grassy notes. There is a dry biscuit and malts smell too along with a hint of grain. Plenty of hops for the style.

Grassy hops and hints of citrus that was present in the smell. There was a little to much grain in the taste upfront followed by a fruity hop taste. The finish is quite a dry one.

Light bodied, perhaps a little watery but not overly thin. There is good carbonation and a dry bitterness to round the drink off with.

An average session ale here and not too different for numerous others out there. It was drinkable and the price certainly helped a little in my overall score, but only slightly. memorable one either.

Got a bottle at Euro Market with the Scottish Session label. There's a bright, almost fruity malt character with a dry, slightly toasty finish. There's a light hit of hops to balance the barley with an earthy touch. I might like a more forward, clean malt character, but this is a tasty session beer.

Poured into a pint glass from a 16.9 oz bottle. Bottle says July 2011, which I'm assuming is the "drink before" date. We'll see how she tastes despite being perhaps past her prime.

A - Pours a thin, bubbly white head with lots of lacing, subsiding rather quickly. The beer is a clear golden color.

S - Strong hop notes with some lemony and floral notes. There's a slight funky, tanginess roaming around in here too. Not sure if its a good or bad thing.

T - Begins with a citrus and light malty flavor. The hops follow, and despite their heavy showing on the nose, don't seem overly forceful on the palate. Instead they act as a nice balancing for those starting flavors. Semi dry finish, slighty bitter aftertaste.

M - Carbonation is in check. Light bodied as it should be.

O - It is what it is; a solid session beer that doesn't sacrifice flavor despite a low ABV. I'd like to try a fresher bottle, which no doubt would make it all the more appealing than what I have currently scored it.

Bottle (best by Nov 2011) poured into a tulip stout glass.

Appearance: Hazy orange yellow beer with a crapload of floating sediment in it. I was not aware this was bottle conditioned and so with a semi-vigorous pour I seem to have all the sediment along for the ride. It's not a good sight with all these dark things floating in the beer. Foam on top is an off white and is a thin layer across the top with some small islands of foam lacing here and there.

Smell: Some malt at first and then something, well, off in the back. With a swirl it comes out like a bit of phenol, and with rest it smells a bit funky. Not liking this.

Taste: Typical English pale ale - some malt and tea-like hops. Nothing really special.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, mild carbonation, actually just right.

Overall: I'm hoping this was just a bad bottle, but if not, I'm not caring for it. I wish when the bottles are conditioned they'd warn you, and if this beer isn't conditioned then it's definitely something that slipped through quality control. Good mouthfeel, but sadly everything else not too good, which is disappointing since to date I've liked everything else from this brewer.

BB 11/11. Consumed 6/11. 3.9%abv.

A: A medium pumpkin orange coloring has a fair clarity with an abundance of effervesce densely packed with some swirling particulate matter caught up in the quickly paced uprising. A milky white head is thin in statue but was sturdy in retention for its initial size always leaving a thin skim coating on top. An intricate spongy dab lacing is left behind on the glass.

S: A light helping of musky oranges and wheat is first to be noticed on the aroma. A bit of orange candy sweetness comes right before a soft wet green hopping.

T: For flavor there is soda bread and oranges, with a brisk carbonation that brings out some damp musky notes. Creamy sweetness, bready and sweet candy with a touch of honey mixes well with a side order of herbal hops and peppercorns. Some instances of wheat can be had, spicy citrus and a bit of tropical fruitiness of mangos and pineapples are ever so brief but present.

M: a light feel and creaminess to it with a refreshing brisk carbonation. Beautiful sweet and musky notes confuse the tongue on holds while leaving a light musky hoppiness behind.

O: Overall a refreshing and brisk natured drink that packs quite a punch for a small beer (3.9%abv). Really surprising, great summertime quencher with the perfect amount of alcohol because this just goes down way to easy. Very good drinkability and very good overall satisfaction. I would definitely like to see more beers akin to this style and perhaps take over/replace the American macro lawnmower lager as this is much more refreshing and packs a ton more flavor with even less alcohol, you really cant go wrong on enjoying one of these. The perfect session.
