I know that this is an English IPA, but I feel like it is still missing just a little something. Just a little more punch from hops, perhaps. What's there is decent, but not anything interesting. It's funny that I never thought I'd see anything else from this brewery, but here it is. Unfortunately, I think I appreciate their gruits more than this.

500ml bottle, consumed May 2011, BBE Sep 2012.

A - Amber body with rapidly dissipating head that leaves a little lacing and touch of covering.

S - Mild grassy citrusy aromas with some gentle malt balance.

T - Malty and a little sweet on the front, giving way to a more bitter touch on the back-end, with a lingering bitter finish.

M - Medium body, light but punchy carbonation.

O - A pleasant beer to enjoy in a session, though possibly a little average by itself.

A - Burnished orange and light gold. A pretty minuscule head which thins and dissipates quite quickly.

S - Light biscuit malts, leaves/grass, blood orange, some hops but not that much, it's overall lighter than I expected on the nose.

T - The same malts, apple tartness, yeast, mixed fruit. It remains earthy and leafy/grassy throughout.

MF - A decent amount of carbonation renders this beer more satisfying considering the light mouthfeel.

O - A fairly standard English IPA, it's enjoyable though it doesn't leave me feeling I need to have another.

500ml bottle. light amber/orange colour to this beer with a good sized thick off white head. Malty aromas at first then a "tingle" of hops . To me this had a surprisingly creamy malt flavour, some hops and fruits detected in the end however, perfectly balanced. The mouthfeel was on the thin side but not too bad. An east drinking ale,

A: The beer is clear deep yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that died down a bit, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of fruity yeast and pale malts are present in the nose along with some notes of floral hops and hints of citrus.
T: The taste very much follows the smell and has some additional hints of grassy hops. A light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It finishes with a slight amount of dryness.
O: This beer seems more like an English Pale Ale and less like an English IPA. Nevertheless, it is very easy to drink and perfectly sessionable.

500ml bottle from GapWines, Belfast...

Poured a straw yellow colour with light golden tinge. Creamy head poured big, foamy and meringue like then faded slowly to light coating. Faint carbonation drifts to the surface... some light lacing...

Aroma - Light biscuity malts, juicy spicy fruits (pineapples, apricots, some apples), light butterscotch sweetness, some honey notes, vanilla, peppery hops, some grassiness, herbal...

Taste – Light fruitiness (lemons, apples, apricots), sea saltiness, perfumey, herbal, grassy, spicy hops, marzipan/almond notes, some graininess...

Feel - Sharp and dry... light bodied... very very refreshing and drinkable... a decent session beer...

Overall - A good clean crisp pale ale... recommended...

My buddy and fellow BA 46and2 scored me a couple of Williams Brothers brews that arent normally available here since he works for the importer. Thanks again Dan!

Consumed 9/12/09- from notes.

Brown 500ml bottle poured into a pint glass.

A- Poured kind of a washed out orange/gold with about a two finger creamy off white head that quickly faded to a thin skim. Faint carbination and lacing.

S- Light sweet fruits, caramel and some spices I cant identify.

T- Very much like the smell with the caramel and spices being more eveident, just a touch dry at the finish. A little grassy flavor that becomes more pronounced as it warms.

M- Light to medium, not too much carbination tingle. Smoother than I expected but still crisp.

D- Very easy drinker, could blow through a few of these sitting on the deck talking with friends. Too bad its not available local.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a clear gold color with a white head. The aroma is a mix of hops with some citrus and grass notes. The flavor is grassy hops with some lighter malts. The beer is fairly bitter. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A- Light Amber in color, light-Medium Carbonation, Thick white head that drops fast to a thin layer that lasted through the rest of the beer

S- A light citrus from the hops

T- Light citrus taste with a hint of Carmel and other spices. after taste is a little bit lemony with a lingering bitterness.

M-Not many bubbles from carbonation, very smooth and light

D- would be a good fishing beer, light and refreshing on a nice summers day on the lake.

Poured into pint glass...

A: bottle is quite a bit different from the pic. pours a straw gold color with good clarity and a white 1 finger head.

S: lightly toasted bread and a spicy, lemon/lime citrus peel aroma.

T: again, bready, citrusy right up front with a honeyed maltiness. quickly becomes spicy and herbal. finish is of light fruits: white grapes and green apples, lemon, and again, very spicy and herbal.

M: medium-full bodied, almost too heavy, a zesty carbonation, and a crisp, dry finish.

Overall, a very good english ipa in all aspects. I could definitely go for a six pack of this beer. Worth a try if English IPAs are "Your bag baby, yeaa!"

From the 500 ml. bottle marked Dec 2012. Sampled on March 24, 2012. It pours golden yellow with slowly moving carbonation leading to a sizable cream colored head and good clarity. For an IPA the aroma is subtle and mellow with malts and cantaloupe marking the aroma and the hop base is more behind the scenes. The body is light to medium. Scottish malts lead the taste with a slight citrus feel and a less notable hop finish. One would think that an IPA would be hoppier than this but in my opinion, traditional hops and more balanced and subtle because the brewer would have wanted to ensure the quality of the beer as it went abroad. A pleasant beer.
