16.9 oz. bottle poured into a Burley Oak snifter (best before 11/13)
A: A hazy and grayish straw color with only a collar, no lacing and no head.
S: Just Ginger!
T: Very light with very little flavor. I love ginger and the spicier the better, so I am always on the lookout for any new ginger beers, especially alcoholic ginger beers. Watery with just a stale ginger flavor and only a hint of that characteristic ginger spice on the backend. I realize this brew is old, but I don't see it tasting much better. This is like the pale ale version of a ginger beer.
M: Prickly and bubbly.
O: Give me a Crabbie's over this, where the ginger is stronger.

Appearance: Clear, golden, looks quite carbonated. Doesn’t produce an impressive head; it disappears quickly.
Aroma: Certainly smells of ginger, but not too strongly, the citrus is also there; fresh.
Taste: A Surprisingly strong ginger flavour. The ginger hides most of the citrus, but it’s there. Sweet aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: The ginger taste lingers and finds its way to the back of mouth, otherwise light.
Overall: Not a very ‘beery’ beer, mostly due to the strong ginger, but also due to complete lack of hops I think. I’ve had a few alcoholic ginger beers (I have fond memories of the house beer at the Ginger Man in NYC — very drinkable but not as gingery as this one). It’s a good beer, not afraid to give you the full tang of ginger. Also manages to be quite flavoursome for such low alcohol content. Williams does some very nice beers, I’m always up for trying a new one from them. I acquired this one from Stockmann Herkku in Helsinki, Finland.

i think this must be the same beer w a new label. says, "Scottish Ginger". Underneath this, it says, "Ale with ginger and lemon juice". Much better than, "alcoholic ginger ale". Like I need to be reminded that I'm an alcoholic.
Anyways... pour is dark gold with a white head that fades quickly and leaves no lace. nose is ginger (lots of ginger), grain (almost like the scent of a road in the middle of a grain field after a good rain), lemon, and lemonade/sweet lemon. like the nose suggests, the taste is sweet, lemony ginger with a grainy, malty sweet backbone. everything is separate and defined, but everything blends and harmonizes well. medium-light body that isn't sticky, although it is very sweet. simple, interesting, refreshing and fun. not too gingery, but there is a long, gingery, spicy-hot finish. a true session beer at 4%abv. quite fun for a ginger lover.

A - Pours into glass a tender yellow - water-soaked straw with thin head mostly around the edges of the glass.
S - Ginger, as one would expect, also soft drink soda aromas, damp earth and hay. The overall scents are very pleasing I have to say! The herb and natural essence aromas are supremely realised.
T - Ginger, lemon and earthiness are the predominate features, yet also here is citrus fruit & peel, light malt, topped with a light, wholesome spiciness on the finish. A little over-sweet for my personal tastes.
M - Soda! Thin and foamy, perhaps a bit so for my tastes (not a fan of soft drinks), medium carbonation, quite sweet overall.
O - If you like ginger ale I think you will really like it, but for the rest of us, nice to try, but I wouldn't drink regularly if I'm honest. It's good for what it is!

Looks like a lighter lager with a crisp white head that foams and disappears. Smell is assertive spicy ginger and mild grains.
Expecting sweeter and more soda-like, this is a happy surprise: spicy hot ginger warms the mouth and throat with enough carbonation to delight. Sugar and lemon added in the brewing neither over-sweetens or over-sours.
Mouthfeel is light, like soda, like the dry ginger ale that mimics it.
Highly drinkable and a welcome alternative to soft drinks or even a mixed drink. Would like ot try accompanying a fiery Indian or Thai meal. Well done.
Best before October 2012 on label.

A - Golden pale, a small head that dissappears quickly and leaves a still loking beer no lacing at all.
S - Ginger, Ginger, Ginger bit of sugar and Lemon
T - Upfront, crisp firey ginger and light lemon, a bit of malt (and ginger) in the middle then all ginger and warmth at the end. I like ginger and di dlike this but as it is quite one dimentional can't give it much higher of a rating. But lot's flavor and a low alc%
MD - Very smooth, much more than other "gingerbeers" that are more like soda. The Carbonation is perfect and this is very refreshing. If it were a summer afternoon I may want more.
If you like ginger, this is the best one I have ever had! it is a real beer brewed with malted Barley and malted wheat where others are really just alcoholic Soda's. My mother in law also loved it.
