A: Pours black. Coarse foam, quickly fading.
S: In general low in intensity. Roasty, light coffee and bread notes.
T: Slightly fruity. Light caramel/toffee notes and lingering coffee. Late astringency - light, pleasant. Also a late sour impression.
M: Medium/light body. A little low in carbonation.
O: Malt body seems covered by acidity and astringency. Lacking the smoothness of a Schwarzbier. Else interesting.

The colour is deep brown with a tint of red (50 EBC); the liquid is clear. The high brown airy head sinks slowly to a thick lid, leaving almost no lacing.

The smell is sweet with hints of wort. Roasted notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Some metallic bitter notes. It is quite thin and lacks depth.

The taste is more “brown” than “black”: Chocolate, tobacco, wort. Some black malt tartness. Alcohol and molasses sweetness. Light bitterness. Medium body. Grass, molasses and green plants in the aftertaste. The finish is sweet and sticky with noticeable alcohol.

The carbonation is medium strong; lots of small long lived bubbles. The liquid is light yet sticky.

Not a very good dark lager: Too sweet, too sticky.

A:Pours very dark, almost black. The brown head is rather tall and quite compact at first, then it turns soapy.

S: Roasted dark semi-sweet malts, faint smoked notes in the back. Choclate and coffee, along with some faint vanilla. Nice, but a bit mild.

T: Still roasted but a bit sweeter. Malt is strong, but balanced by bitter hops. Chocolate and strong black coffee. A nice vanilla twist in the back.

M: Roasted and bitter long aftertaste. Rather full body for this style, very smooth. Mild carbonation.

O: Nice. Not very eastery, but nice.
