The perfect market disguised as a gas station. Great selection and merchandising (they know what you want) Beer list is rotating and varied as is the superb wine inventory. These guys know what the public wants and it is difficult to restrain temptation. Top notch Boars Head Subs(not cheap) but the best sandwich meats! Ask for Jordan to provide beer additions! The only place in to get Krispy Kreme and good coffee after a night of Blowing Rock Excess. This is also a great time to get your "SO' some chocolate or treat to forgive you for past indiscretions!

Spent a day in the mountains with my family, and decided to stop in here after walking around downtown for a bit. This store is definitely more wine-centric, but they did have a good beer selection. Large wrap around cooler in the back corner. Lots of good beer was present. Terrapin, Stone, Ommegang, Olde Hickory, Victory - just to name of few of the ones I saw. Everything looked fresh from what I scanned. This is a nice little store. They also carried a good amount of cigars and plenty of wine. Definitely the store I would hit if I was staying in the area for a few days.

a nifty little place to stop if you visiting the highlands. technically a convienence store/deli, they pack quite an array of stuff for a small store. some local goods and honeys, cheese, gourmet sauces, nuts, stogies, and of course beer. when we were here they didn't have a huge selection, but everything they had was good. i picked up some Terrapin and Sweetwater brews and a 750 of Duvel. prices are more than fair, considering the touresty nature of this area. most 6packs were 7-8 bucks and my Duvel was only 7-8 as well, versus 9-10 anywhere else. a cozy, homey atmosphere permeates and the staff is eager and friendly.

A pretty decent stop if you are in town. I actually went in to pick up some preserves for Mom but it is a decent little beer stop. I found some ruination and some terrapin, a few others, mostly regional and a few common belgians. Did not really find anyone to help so to speek, but that was fine. It was a friendly little place and I wasnt really expecting much to be honest. A cool little stop if you are in the area, nothing spectacular, but cool none the less. And you really cannot beat the area, they have a little bit of everything which was nice as I was traveling with the wife

Not a typical beer destination but if you go for other reasons it's a good all around trip. Just a few coolers of stuff for good prices. Very interesting gas station made of stone if I recall correctly (I'm not the most observant person in the world). Duck Rabbit, Highland, Terrapin, Dogfish Head, and some others. They have some damn good mustard, hot sauce, wine, and other interesting things there too including a deli. If you're ever in the area you should try to make a quick stop here to see what they've got to offer. All in all a worthwhile place in my book.

This is an interesting little store in downtown Blowing Rock that sells a little bit of everything. You can purchase beer, wine, cheese, jellies, honey and gourmet coffees and teas. They even have a deli serving numerous types of sandwiches. The beer selection is OK, but nothing out of this world. I saw Sierra Nevada, Sam Smith, Wolavers, Sweetwater, Spaten, Duvel, Chimay and a few others. One surprise was all three of Terrapin's Monster Tour beers for $7.99 a 4-pack. That's 2 bucks cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. That said, I wouldn't make this a regular stop unless I absolutely didn't want to drive the extra 8 miles north to Boone. That city has several stores with a much larger inventory of craft beer. If you're this close, you might as well go all the way.

This place is a breeze to find on Main Street in Blowing Rock. A cannot miss it kinda place, just look for the Exxon station.

It has 4 1/2 cooler doors full of "micro" beer, but only a small selection. It did have Duck Rabit, Terrapin and Highland and a bit of Sweetwater, but the rest just didn't seem to stand out. The one thing that did stand out was very reasonable pricing. I'd stop here if coming down the road for that reason if nothing else.

I'm gonna put the quality pretty darn high because not a speck of dust was seen in the extremely clean store. More of a grocery feel than that of an Exxon Station.

This is a very attractive convience store that has a wide selection of everything it seems. They have one of the biggest wine selections that I've ever seen. A large selection of cigars, cheese, hot sauce and of course beer. They don't have a whole lot of craft beers(3 coolers I think), but the ones they do have are very good. For example I came out of there with Dogfish Head 90 minute and Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster. The guy at the counter was willing to help in any way and very nice. He was not very beer educated, but nice none the less. The prices seemed comparable to the other places in the area, which is actually cheap for Blowing Rock. You can expect to pay a premium on just about everything in Blowing Rock. Overall I highly recommend a stop by the Blowing Rock Market when you are visiting the wonderful downtown area of Blowing Rock.

I like this place a lot. It has friendly staff and when I looked for it on this website it wasn't here so I added it yesterday. It would be a nice place to go if ever in Blowing Rock. The whole town is a really great place to visit. The Market is an attractive building with lots of rockwork. The selection on micro's is really good. They have an outstanding selection of wine. There is also a humidor for finer cigars. I travel an hour up a mountain to get to this place, bypassing many other stores to get there. Plus this is the closest place to Morganton to get Otter Creek and Wolavers. They are also getting in high alcohol beers. I bought my first one here, a 750Ml of Chimay Blue. Overall, A great store to visit when in the Highcountry.
