22 oz. bottle:

Pours golden with a thin creamy head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is raw. Peppery alcohol. Slight grain.

The taste is of sweet grain. The 9.5% abv shows. It tastes like a mediocre cheap malt liquor (at best).

Somewhat creamy despite noticeable alcohol and rather unpleasant character,

I don't see any connection to lobster. Whatever.,,,

Pours a slightly hazy copper gold with a small white head. Smells of yeast and malt. Tastes of malt, yeast, and alcohol. Medium in body and carbonation. Overall the beer is well below average, I couldn't finish it.

Poured from a 500 ML bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Savannah, GA. The appearance was your basic traditional lager look. The aroma was off-putting, with a strong medicinal odor. The flavor was slightly above "horrid". The best part of this beer was the unique beer label.

Since I have a wife who is Lithuanian I have a desire to drink Lithuanian beer, and let me just say stay away from this one, this beer is horrible.
L: tiny bubbly head, murky gold body.
A: Apple juice
F: heavy maltiness
T: malty, stale barley, cidery, boozy, metal, stale tobacco.
O: disappointed and very unbalanced, not flavorful. Perhaps I consumed a beer that's past it's prime but @ 9.5% you would think it could withstand the brinks of time.

It isn't as bad as some people are saying. The guy at the liquor store I bought it at was saying how bad it was, but it really isn't in my opinion. However, I can see why some people really hate it. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect drinking it. It's an unfiltered brew, and there are not so small flecks of sediment floating in it. At first, I had no idea what the hell the stuff was and even wondered if maybe it was said to be so bad because it had actual pieces of lobster in it or something. The flecks of sediment are large and freaky looking. The first few sips are harsh, due to the intense alcohol bite...... but no the flecks aren't lobster it's just an ordinary unfiltered beer but the sediment grains are just rather large. You don't notice taste or see them really. It's extremely malty, partly due to the lack of filtration. However, I'm a fan of malty beer, so I actually liked that aspect. The alcohol content is also quite high at 9.5%, and even the one pint had me pretty buzzed. So, it's not something you'd be drinking all night that's for sure. My only serious critique would be the sharp taste/smell of the first couple sips...... after that though, you get used to it and it's honestly not bad. I'd definitely drink it again, though it isn't really a favorite of mine. If you like Beligian Tripels and/or unfiltered tripels, you'll probably like or at least not mind this stuff.

Poured from 330mL bottle into a dimpled mug. It's finally that time, 2,784 reviews in, to try the infamous Lobster Lovers Beer. Wish me luck!

Appearance: cloudy orange hue with a thin layer of frothy ivory foam. There are lots of little chunks floating around in the beer; maybe not a great sign for a lager.

Smell: extremely sweet with a light apple fruitiness. It's actually not terrible, and relatively appropriate for the style.

Taste: super sweet and malty. I tend to like sweet and malty -- I'm a tripel and BSPA fan -- so it's not actually too bad. But it does lack character; just kind of bland and sweet.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer is not anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. Sure, there's a bit of alcohol heat, but despite its sweetness is not as cloying as some beers of the style. Is it weird to be disappointed that a beer is not as bad as I thought it might be? I'll settle with "pleasantly surprised".

Pours a clear copper hued gold. Normal head volume, poor retention and lacing.

Light lager style nose with a touch of cherry, apple and grape over a very mild biscuit. Alcohol is evident.

Light medium body with a nice somewhat creamy texture. Below normal carbonation with very little effervescence in the finish.

The flavor profile is good, but is too focused on the alcohol. The complexity of the nose has to struggle to be noted in the middle. Also in the middle, a solid biscuit sweetness arrives to attempt balance, but falls short due to alcohol. Underneath, this is a quite tasty lager that could approach outstanding if the alcohol were reduced to manageable levels. Not bad by any means, but as it is, just good. If you like alcohol forward brews, this one just might be in your wheelhouse.
