So picked this stuff from a bottle shop in Chattanooga, TN out of curiosity of trying some import from Russia. Turns out this is from Lithuania.

Pours a brown colored liquid. Deep amber with copper and brown hues inside the glass. Almost one finger thick tan colored head that disappears very very quickly. Leaves nothing behind. No lacing. Some bubbles seen rising up. Slight haze.

Extremely rich malty sweetness with caramel and toasty character. Alcohol is not apparent. Seems like some dry fruit as well, some figs may be. But very off setting aroma. Not inviting at all. No phenol, alcohol or hops are felt.

Hits the tongue with all the sweetness there is. Looks richer in molasses. Full of caramel, bad toffee taste and flat single sided malt taste. Tastes a bit unfermented. Finish is sweet. Some alcohol is felt. A bit of carbonation and alcohol add some value to an otherwise flat malt taste. No bitterness, but some hops must have been used to prevent the sweetness from overpowering.

Medium to slightly full bodied. Moderate to slightly high carbonation. N oastringency except for some moderate alcohol feeling that creeps in with taste. Sweet on palate. Difficult to finish.

Appearance - Pours an amber/copper color with a thin head, leaving almost no lacing at all..

Smell - The smell is amazing. Toffee, very malty and bready, brown sugar, and syrup..?

Taste - Extremely sweet.. almost overbearing. Toffee, sugar, malt, bready, and a pretty strong alcohol bite.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Overall - If not for the alcohol bite, I would probably like this very much.

A - Dark purple and brown with a little white head. I like the color.

S - Woozy boozy alcohol and grape flavored Tootsie Roll Pops. Smells potent.

T - Heavy on the grainy cereal flavors with some molasses on the back end.

M - Heavy and thick. This is a beast!

Not so good. I found all of these Lithuanian beers at a really low price so I had to pick them up, but none of theme have been anything special. They are all REALLY high ABV too.

A - Amber hue, nothing special. Didn't get much lacing.

S - Sweeter, malty scent. Made me moderately excited for the taste.

T - Extremely metallic up front!!! Others have said this but before I even read the reviews this was the first thought that came to mind. The metallic taste is there at the beginning and especially strong in the end. Yuck.

M - I felt this beer to be very flat and metallic. It's a pretty difficult beer to get through.

O - I have realized over time that this company makes a lot of coin off high alcohol content beers. Maybe the fact that I was paying three bucks should have tipped me off and although this isn't worse than Before After, it's still extremely difficult to get through a bottle.

I've seen this on the shelves a number of times and I finally bit the bullet and grabbed a bottle. Poured into a snifter.

A - Pours an amber hued copper with a thin off-white head, despite my best efforts to force a head out of the bottle.

S - Some bread and sweet malts. Pretty boring.

T - I get some metallic hops up front, kind of painful to be honest, alongside some fruits and apple. The metallic note sort of lingers on throughout the taste making this a rough experience. As the beer warms the fruit becomes more dominant and the metallic notes recede. This is still far from desirable, although a sharp jump from its cold counterpart.

M - Medium mouthfeel with some strong carbonation. Bottom line this is hurting my mouth a bit.

O - There are few beers that I refuse to finish until it warms, otherwise it is unbearable.

Served in a chilled tulip glass.

-Appearance 4.0: Pours out a beautiful amber that is strangely opaque and not translucent. I cannot see my hand on the other side of the glass in spite of the liquid looking clear. Very strange. Almost no head to this beer, just a slight foamy residue on top after the pour.

-Smell 4.0: Very, very nice bouquet. Deep aroma of barley and grains. Slight hop overtones. Promising.

-Taste 3.0: Front is slightly sour with a pleasant bitterness. Also somewhat sweet. Middle is big and filled with barley and caramel malts. Finish is slightly sour again and has a very subdued hoppy kick. Aftertaste is long and after a mild, high-palate bitterness, there is a very refreshing and long alkaline hop flavor. There is, however, a troubling metallic aftertaste.

-Mouthfeel 3.0: A higher level of carbonation could have really elevated the taste of this beer.

-Overall 3.5: This beer sat in the cool temperature of my basement for over a year before I tried it, so that may explain why my review is so wildly different from others. It is my opinion that this beer is refreshing and has a depth of flavor and aroma that sets it apart from many other beers. I never tasted the high alcohol content; everything was smooth and enjoyable. I did, however, notice a large amount of sediment on the bottom which is a result of the beer aging in the bottle.

Pours a medium amber color with almost no carbonation and absolutely no lacing. Smells like what you would imagine an artificial lager syrup smelling like. Incredibly sweet and malty with a lot of cheap alcohol. Leaves a metallic aftertaste. Overall about on the equivalent of any generic malt liquor in the States. Absolutely nothing about this is Belgian in style. Drinkable, but only for a purpose other than enjoyment.

Served in a snifter glass.

Appearance: Straight amber with light bubbles on the body. Head is fragile literally as I am sipping it, it starts dissipating. Head which is white is roughly 1/3".

Smell: Light light yeast, a feel of hops but still satisfying.

Taste: This taste is every where almost marzen like with it's cream feel. You feel the yeast in the taste, improving more and more as you get closer to the end.

Mouth: Not as sticky as I like but in the end really smooth, barely even taste the 8.2 abv level.

Overall: Listen for under four bucks this beer was a steal, I have paid more for much crappier Belgian style beers and this will leave you with a smile. I hope you enjoy and appreciate it as much as I have. Salud!

500ml bottle poured into a Palm tulip.

A- Pours a nice dark amber color with a thin white head. So far so good.

S- This is where it takes a bad turn. Very malty. Sugar, toffee mixed in with cheap lager. I'm also getting a metallic solvent like aroma.

T- A little better than the smell but not by much. There isn't much to the flavor other than malt and artificial sweetener. Solvent like flavor at the end. But overall pretty bland.

M- Medium carbonation and thickness, numbs lips a little.

O- A Belgian Dark Ale? Meh, I guess. Not really sure what the brewery was trying to accomplish with this one. I have another bottle which of course I will drink.

very light amber color with no visible head upon pouring. The beer had absolutely no ribboning. It was very sweet. Overall not a horrible brew but not one of the best either. The bottle appearance is unique with the half wolf label. The high alcohol content is a nice feature.

Severely hazed amber colored ale with basically no head.

Smell is sweet malt syrup and nothing else. Yeah it is that lame.

Starts out sweet and noticeably alcoholic. Malt with some fusel alcohol tastes and a slight bitterness. Frankly though this doesn't get quite to the level of St. Ides Malt Liquor for taste.

Mouthfeel is average or so.

Overall this is a big bottle full of crap. There is nothing to recommend this beer at all. AVOID!

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Look – light red, almost amber in color, relatively clear, with about half a finger’s worth of foam that dissipates quickly.

Smell – malty smell, plus some other aspect I can’t quite identify. It’s sweet and slightly starch-like in smell – i.e. somewhat toasty or bread-like. Very interesting smell though.

Taste – much like the smell, there’s mostly a malt taste, but there’s more hop taste there than what is noticed in the smell. The sweet bread-like aroma is also there in the taste. Interesting aftertaste that’s almost like a Pilsner.

Mouthfeel – good balance in general, but it leans a little more on the watery side.

Overall – very interesting and thought provoking taste, which in itself is also pretty good. Good brew overall!

Brewery Rinkuškiai : Werewolf
Bottle States "You must be sure you wanna taste it"

Appearance: Cloudy maroon color with soapy white head and quite a bit of yeast sediments, this is ale.

Smell: Fruity, malty and alcoholic, like most of the range from this brewery. No detectable Belgian yeast, but some ale yeast of some sorts is responsible for the fruityness.

Taste: Malt forward with some brown sugar, caramel and faint date notes. Hop bitterness is enough to keep the syrupy sugary malt character in check. Some warming alcohol is noticed. To get a beer this high in ABV, a rediculous amount of malt was used. It tastes like that.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, crisp carbonation, semi smooth with lingering hop bitterness riding a wave of caramel.

Overall: Not sure what to call this. There is nothing Belgian about this, so it may be mis-categorized. It is strong ale, but if anything it most closely resembles an English Barleywine. Interesting, and not without its charms.

A: Poured with almost no head, deep red/amber, slightly cloudy.

S: Strong cinnamon overtones, apple, spice, cherry and everything nice. I really like the smell.

T: Cherries, cinnamon, tart. Easy.

M: A little carbonation, wish it had just a little more.

O: A great beer for October, but make sure to inhale as you drink, as over half of the flavor comes in through the nose.

Interesting label and bottle. Poured into my crystal mug the beer has a murky amber red mahogany color. A tan head builds about
One finger high but disappears immediately with no lacing.
The smell is quite fruity. Cherry, plum, peach, fig and sweet malt.
Tasting this beet I was reminded more at a Doppelbock than a dark Belgium Ale. The fruity notes up front, the sweet malt notes kick in, in the middle, being finished with a distinct alcohol taste.
Very sweet beer, interesting in character.

Picked up to check "Lithuania" off my list of countries. Bought at Julio's and poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a stagnant reddish copper with a two finger head that quickly faded to leave minimal halo.

S - Some sweet malts and some cherries. Not digging it, smells very sweet and fake, and metallic.

T - Not digging the taste either. Mor eof the same with super sticky sweet fruit easters. Metallic is still slightly there.

M - Only halfway decent quality about this brew. Somewhat crisp, but, still syrupy.

O - Overall, really didnt care for this beer at all. So many, hell, "average" examples of this style, not this junk. Still, go Lithuania!

Appearance is very red, smelled of maple syrup, the taste was overly sweet with fruit. it was slightly acidic . It didn't seem like it was high in alcohol but it gave me a headache after drinking half of the bottle. Very bad to average beer, I will never try this beer again period.

Not a bad beer, can't taste the alcohol much. Was disapointed on the suds, not much abd they faded quick. Color is very red, and you can see through it but its kinda foggy though no sediment. Tastes very fruity, tangy, a little different then some beers- tasts of possibly sour apples. Medium thickness on the mouth feel, leaves you a little tart.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a pretty brownish amber color with a small head. Smell is of alcohol, some fruits. Taste is alcohol up front, some fruits and malts, not overly flavorful. Feels light in the mouth and has average drinkability. Overall a decent brew but nothing great.

A - Clear and copper in color. Barely a thin little head.

S - Mostly cherries with a malty backdrop.

T - Cherries, watery and slightly sour with a bitter finish

M - Highly carbonated with an aftertaste reminiscent of an artificial sweetener.

No. Can't see myself trying to drink this one again.

Poured from a half-liter bottle into a wine glass.

Appearance: Pours a lot like a citrus soda, very fizzy. Absolutely no head after about fifteen seconds; not even any residual foam clinging to the edge of the glass. Belgian dark ale? Only in color...dark amber with ruby notes.

Smell: Not too shabby. Very sweet yeasty/malty banana/plum smell. Lots of fruit. Not-so-faint ester quality to it.

Taste/Mouthfeel: WAY too watery...no lasting carbonation. Very malty, very cloying. Sour, like bad fruit. Like their "Before-After" but diluted with old juice and water. *Shudders*

Drinkability: Slightly better than the aforementioned brew, but not good enough to recommend to anyone. Sorry I wasted the money on this one, but now I know.

This is similar to, but less pleasant and enjoyable than, the same brewer's Before-After. I do not understanbd why this is listed as a Belgian Dark Ale as this seems like a doppelbock or maybe maibock or strong lager of some sort.

Amber-copper, it has a medium tan head soon shrinking to a few bubbles, not very good and in fact rather ugly.

Aroma is strong fermented grain, wet rusty metal, old raisins. It is very strongly malty-sweet, simple, and not pleasant at all. In fact, it smells quite bad to me.

Taste is much better but not enough to save it. It is spicey-sweet fruit juice, raisin, a hint of toast and cheap brandy. It is lightly sweet with hint of faint spicey bitterness underneath. It is simple but tastes reasonably good but in the end is mostly fermented, alcoholic fruit juice and fails to maintain any interest in the face of the off-putting aroma. It is also very heavy for what you get. Drinkability thus fades fast.

Strange fruit, strong ale.

Looks nice, dark amber in the glass. First taste is kind of shocking. Actually it gets better after your taste buds get used to the idea. Aroma is like a powerful doppelbock but with a big dose of caramel apple. It is so reminiscent of mixed drinks, like Long Island Iced Tea or maybe Captain Morgan and Diet Coke. Odd mix of fruity and spicy flavors-- pumpkin pie, applejack, dried pears. Quite woody and astringent in the mouth, mixed with that funky sweetness. Then a shuddering bitterness hinting at almond pits.

A true oddity, or maybe a new strain of Belgian beer yeast mixed with Lithuanian rocket fuel. It seems clean enough, so maybe the brewers meant for it to taste like this.

Clear vibrant orange. Offwhite head without much rentention. no laces.

Metallic Cotton Candy. some citrus and floral notes. Light toast. Pear. Plus a weird smell I cant put my finger on.

Sweet candi sugar, metallic cotton candy. Toasted bread and brown sugar. Floral and lemon hop character. Fruity pear yeast esters.

Rich, sticky, med body. refreshing steady carbonation.

Refreshing and drinkable, but a bit on the sweet side. Not one i'd really revisit, but it was ok. Not sure what style this is like most here, quite a unique brew.

Like many of you who've come across this hairy son of a bitch, it was by complete coincidence. You saw a beer called Werewolf, and you being a fan of werewolf movies just had to buy it. So the bottom line here is this beer akin to American Werewolf in London as being an unbelievable piece of work, or is it some Underworld hollywood cash in type of film that barely brings anything to the table?

Well, unfortunately, it definitely leans closer to Underworld. Actually, it closer resembles the American sequel, American Werewolf in Paris. Though, are we now supposed to refer to this beer as "insert country you belong to" Werewolf in Lithuania? I think so!!

With a head that disappears almost as soon as it arrives, you're left with not much to look at. But get this, since I'm such a poor bum, I have this American Werewolf in Lithuania sitting in a Margarita glass. And would you know, it sits beautifully. With a amber/copper top, the bottom exhibits a golden/tequila like glow. It's quite nice.

The fragrance quite simply is really nothing. It's nice, but not memorable. Truthfully, I'm having a difficult time picking apart what I'm smelling. I wanna say there was a caramel hint.

The taste is where The American Werewolf in Lithuania makes it mark....at being average. It's not bad, in fact it has a nodding factor that will possibly have you asking for another bottle. But probably just so you can say you got hammered off Werewolves. I know I am. A slight ting, a bit sour, and not bad at all.

The after effect is pretty easy, and won't really have any say on why you like or dislike this beer. Noticeable, occasionally impolite but not a nuisance.

Besides the look of this fur-covered mangy jerk, the beer goes down. It goes down the gullet. Remember in Bad Moon when Uncle Ted and Thor had that showdown? How awesome was that? It was a totally drinkable moment in werewolf history....and this beer would have been quite a fine choice to drink to that moment.

Overall, the main reason to drink this beer is to say you drank a beer called Werewolf. And not only that, it has a rather high ABV% @ 8.2%. So you won't be having to toss down that many to get your howl on. Damn...I think they should hire me for their marketing department. - Don't be afraid to get bit by this werewolf. - I hear drinking Coors Light (Silver Bullet) after drinking Werewolf can kill you.
