I've had a decent take on a hefeweizen from Lithuania before, so at less than $3, I'll pay for the jokey label if nothing else. Poured from a 500mL bottle into my Ayinger Doppelbock glass.

Brilliantly clear goldenrod body with an active ephemeral head. Poor retention, no legs, and a sticky even layer of tears.

Low aromatics suggest pale malt, adjunct, and a hint of toast. No melanoidins; faint grape-like note, some alcohol.

I was expecting this to taste like a Euro Strong Lager at this point, but there is a surprising level of maltiness along with a touch of caramel. Vague grassy hops perhaps, but no real bitterness. Finishes on the sweet side with a rapidly growing heat from the ABV. Maybe some fusels in the aftertaste, but the overall flavor profile is fleeting.

Insipid mouthfeel - sticky, heavy, and a bit flat despite a steady stream of bubbles.

While not quite an abject failure, one wonders if the producers of this beer have ever actually had anything approaching a doppelbock before. While I can find one or two things to enjoy about the flavor, and I'm able to finish the bottle (only had one or two "drainpours" in my life), this is at best a novelty beer, and a worst a headache in a bottle. Avoid.

This beer pours really nice with little to no head. It has a golden-honey color. The initial taste is wheat with a bit of sweetness. There's not much of an after-taste. I can't believe this beer is rated so low, it's very smooth and delicious. I recommend it.

500 ml bottle. Served in a mug, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold/amber color with a half inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there isn't much lacing at all. The brew smells like bready/grainy malt, sugar and booze. Unfortunately the taste is similar to the aroma. I think it tastes mostly like sugary booze, with some grainy malt noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's syrupy and coating with low/moderate carbonation. This certainly wasn't one of the better brews I've had lately. But I also finished the bottle without a problem so it wasn't exactly awful either. $2.49 a bottle.

Served from a 16.9 oz bottle into a wine glass.

A - Deep golden color; very clear. Thin white head that quickly fades to a ring around the glass with some lacing.

S - Aroma is bready, grainy, alcoholic goodness. Very clean but very alcoholic.

T - The taste is bready malt; some low flowery hops. Strong alcohol flavor; slightly sweet finish. Very clean and mild for the alcohol level.

M - Medium body; low hops bitterness; moderate alcohol burn. Carbonation is light.

O - This is a very clean, inoffensive, high alcohol beer. It does not have any particular aspect that stands out, but it is pleasing in a generic, high-alcohol way.

16.9 oz bottle with a really weird label. It has a picture of a woman with long flowing hair that has a horn (?) growing out of her forehead. Flip the label over and it's now Richard Nixon with a really crummy fake wig and a bow tie. It doesn't matter which way you view it. It's creepy either way. The back label has all the mandatory US info, a paragraph that talks about the brewery, and a bottle code. My bottle was L.95948.

Since its labeled a Doppelbock, it seemed fitting to pour this beer into my Salvator Pilsner glass. From behind the creepy ass Richard Nixon came a clear as day pale lemon yellow colored beer that had a tiny tint of copper to it. The head of foam was just as weak as the color. On top was a short lived paper thin cotton white head of foam. This supposed head of foam didn't leave anything behind. Not even a speck of lace. Absolutely nothing!

The aroma had everything you expected from of beer of this color. The aroma was extremely grainy with a hint of alcohol and a subtle whiff of juicy fruits and hops. No hidden aroma of any kind. It was mostly grains and alcohol. Not the most complex aroma in the world.

I wish I could say that the taste blew my mind and it was nowhere near the grainy alcohol aroma. The taste was pretty the aroma over again. The taste was grainy and sweet with a super tiny taste of juicy fruits and hops. I do have to hand it to taste. It blended the alcohol into the sweet grains. That was unfortunately the only upside to the taste.

Despite this beer clocking in at 12% ABV, this beer wasn't overly boozy. Sure it was mostly sweet and grainy, but at least it didn't drink like rubbing alcohol. If you want a cheap beer with a lot of alcohol in it, you might want to pick up this beer with the creepy label.

Avoid this one at all costs. It had a $2.99 tag around the 500ml bottle, I should have known. The taste was much too sweet, like fake candy, way too boozy and the aftertaste was like vomit. Almost zero carbonation and a very strange mirky orange color. I drink all kinds of beer but this went down the drain. Too bad.
