This place caters more to health food/granola types than beer advocates. Most of the store is stocked with organic foods, meats, vitamins and produce. However, they also carry a fairly decent selection of craft beers at very competetive prices. When I visited on 01-07-06 I saw plenty of Belgians, Rogue, Dogfish Head, Lost Coast, Unibroue and NC brews. All were in a cooler at the back of the store. I picked up a 4-pack of 90 minute for 8.99, which is about a dollar less than everywhere else in Charlotte. Service is pretty good for a grocery store too. An employee asked if he could help me find anything and if I had any questions about any of the beers. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about craft beer. This place is worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.

I would not think of a healthy food market as a great place to find a huge selection of beers. Don't be deceived. I've tried all the popular places in Charlotte (Brawley's, Total Wine, Common, etc.) and Health Home Market has become my go-to.

Specifically, the SERVICE. I am always interested in trying some new bottling/seasonal. I want someone both knowledgable and pleasant to help me navigate. No d-bags, with huge egos, for reasons I cannot comprehend! I've had several great experiences/recommendations at HHM. There is a great guy there, named Jason, who goes out of his way to help/make suggestions. No ego, just a guy that likes his brews and is willing to spend some time with you. A+

Also, they have a great SELECTION, and most of it is COLD. The entire back of the store is ref. units - I can't find that anywhere else. Tons of seasonals and local growlers. Well-organized and reasonable-to-low pricing. I've been able to get some limited runs here too, that other places laugh at me when I ask for them...

Pulled in here on a whim on the way to the Growler Pub. Glad I did as this health food store has a remarkable selection of craft beer. At least half of the back wall has beer, most of it in coolers. This is an exceptionally large variety of cold stored craft/rare beers! Their vast selection includes many NC beers, more than I have seen at any other location in Charlotte, as well as many brews from elsewhere in the U.S. (e.g., Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, Rogue, Sweetwater, Atwater, Wolavers), and a good number of internationals (especially from Germany and Belgium). Many bottles are available as singles or at $10.99 for a mix of six. They also had about 6 varieties of local beers in growlers (including Nantahalla).

I have to admit, I hit this place 2-3 times a week since its about a block down from my work.

Over the past couple of years, the beer selection has gotten better and better. This has everything to do with Jason, the HHM Beer Guru. He is on top of all the new releases, as well as some of the more obscure breweries. Got 30 minutes to kill? Go rap with him about beer and the time flies.

They get all the niceties, like the rarer Founders items, blah blah blah. And you don't have to be in the good ol' boy club to get any....crazy!

They have a cold case with grab and go food. Hot soups, etc.

Good stuff, good peeps, good all around

Great Place to not only stop for a lunch/dinner food but a top-notch Beer/Wine Selection. They rank right up there in terms of having all the "gems/hard-to-find releases" and having the by far the largest cold section in Charlotte. Best of all you can usually grab those gemmers without 'kissing the ring" like at the other bottle shops. I was pleasantly surprised with not only the service but the knowledge within the department. I would suggest this spot to any beer geek looking for a spot to grab your gems without the over pretentious bottle attendant.

Surprising selection with nearly the entire back wall a cooler full of an incredible selection. By far the largest stock of cold stored craft/rare beers in Charlotte. They have a decent selection (Bell's Two Hearted, Dead Guy, Sweetwater IPA and 420 to name a few) of singles for 1.89 each or 10.99 for a mix of six. They also had a good stock of OMB growlers, but since the their taproom is only a couple blocks away I don't know why you wouldn't just go get OMB straight from the source. Also has a decent selection of organic groceries similar to an Earthfare. I have not tried the deli/bakery but hope to get back there to try soon.

Obviously this is a specialty market first. The beer selection, pretty much all cold is along the back wall of the place. I was thoroughly surprised and impressed, cooler after cooler, sixers, growlers and singles. Large selection of local and regional breweries. Solid international selection from all over. Some harder to find big beers even.

Service is what you would expect for a store. Though their manager seemed to be walking around talking with random customers.

I was actually not that impressed perusing the heatlhy, organic, specialty foods. The selections were fairly limited.

This grocery store is pretty awesome. It's basically like The Fresh Market, except bigger and with a helluva lot better beer selection. Tons of local stuff. Growlers from Olde Mecklenburg and Catawba Brewing. Sweet selection of gluten-free and vegan stuff as well (Not my cup-of-tea, but still nice to see them accomodating). Ended up getting a couple of good local beers and some great bread and cheese as well. Didn't see much help available in the beer section, but honestly, didn't need it. All of the signs up (Local Breweries, marking which beers were various styles, etc) took care of any questions that even a novice might have. Very, very impressed. Wish it were a little closer to my house though.

Stopped by here on my way to the OMB taproom. Wasn't planning it, but saw it coming up so swung in. Man, am I glad that I did! Nice little grocery with a small cafe on the left side. The beer is all in the back right corner of the store. Huge coolers that carried an insane amount of quality brews! This really reminded me of Bestway in Greensboro, but actually a touch better. Lots of good beers from local sources. Some good growlers represented. They had many beers that I had never heard of from around the country. Great Belgian and European selection. They had some of the new releases for seasonals for some local breweries, most notably the Terrapin Pumpkinfest in 12oz bottles. I loved this place. If in the area, this is where I would buy my beer. I hesitate to say that it's as good as Brawley's, but it just may be. I thought it was top notch. [my rating is higher than Brawley's, but that's taking into account that this is a grocery store first].

This place is basically an organic food store. Very similar to a Whole Foods or a Wild Oats.

The beer selection is actually pretty good for an organic/health food store. There was probably 15 - 20 doors worth of beer. No real shelves devoted to beer, just the refrigerated doors. I did see that there was quite a bit of older bottles, but overall the selection is quite nice.

I was unable to find anyone working that was knowledgable to ask questions. The pricing was pretty competitive.

Overall I would say that this place is worth a visit if you are in the area, I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here but a decent find none the less...
