When I stayed with friends in Antwerp during Easter 2001, we hopped on a train one night at the stunningly beautiful Cathedral like Centraal Station, took a 5 minute train ride, and alighted at the nearby Berchem Station (pick nearly any train as most stop here - but do check first!). The Camargue is about a 10 minute walk from the Berchem Station.
Our party of 12 had been out all day and not eaten, so upon arrival we informed the staff that we wanted some hearty Belgium fare and we were immediately escorted right to the back of its single long room, past the main bar and drinking area, which resembled a Brown Café, to a sort of covered outside area, that quite cleverly, felt as though it was still inside. Here was a large table that seated all of us. Service was very impressive, polite and courteous - but never overbearing or false. The Food was superb, it took some time to arrive, but this is Belgium and after 8 years of visits we had learnt to wait for it. So we scoured the Beer List for liquid appetizers. 150+ beers, with a smattering of some really unusual ones for good measure. The server told us that often there were some special beers available but on further inquiry he really meant that the list just changed occasionally, rather than special as we BelgiumAleHeads had come to understand the term. Our Party of 12 spent a good "wedge" that night between us, and we left a good tip they had earned it. As a Thank You, they bought us all a beer accompanied by a huge plate of cheeses (as if we were hungry!) before we left Only in Belgium!!
Well Worth the 15 minutes journey from Antwerp.
