Had this at Dry Dock on 6/6/09.
Arrives a deep golden (honey would actually be appropriate) color with a sheen of a head on top.
Smells a little bit like a sweet mead.
Up-front there's a hit of sweetness from the honey, but there's a pretty malty middle that reminds me of bread baking. Finished clean as a whistle. Not a lot of overt hop presence, but enough to keep things in order and to finish so nice. Not as sweet as many other honey beers, but the flavor carries over very well.
This is about as easy drinking as a sweeter beer can get.
I had it on a warm summer afternoon and I couldn't have been happier. Having a few of these after doing some work or after a hike would be great.
I could see this being something that could be enjoyed by both beer geeks and macro fans at the same time.
There's no mind-blowing depth, but it's easy drinking, tasty, and has just the right amount of honey flavor without being too sweet.
Serving type: on-tap
