APPEARANCE: This one is a bubble machine. It poured with a solid three fingers of head made up of big bubbles. The head didn’t budge for a few minutes and by the time I took my first sip a good finger and a half were still left. This extra-thick head rested on top of a nearly opaque, orange beer. A ring of lacing clung to the very top of the glass and beneath that big splotches of lace lined the glass.

SMELL: The aroma required a nose to be stuck in the glass, but once it was there it was quite intense. Lots of citrusy hops, particularly lemon and orange with a bit of grapefruit were present. A touch of pine rounded this one out. Very nice aroma.

TASTE: This tastes just like the nose, but with a twist, which I’ll get to in a moment. First, the lemon, orange and grapefruit from the nose are all present, but the order is rearranged. Now it’s grapefruit, lemon, and then orange. The pine is also there, but it is intensified. The twist is that this beer has a fantastic bitter and hoppy twist that shows up mid-sip and rides it out through to the end. This is an excellent DIPA.

MOUTHFEEL: Well carbonated, but the sparkle ends up getting the backside of the palate and remains a little more smooth towards the front. This is also a very dry beer.

OVERALL: I am quite impressed by Dry Dock’s offering here. I found it on tap a couple of weeks ago for the first time, but I’m very happy I found a bottle to bring home in order for me to get a better feel. This is an excellent Double IPA.

Pours very cloudy apricot/orange hue with a small, rocky, parchment colored head. Good retention of this with spotty lacing coating the glass.

A juicy malt sweetness gives off caramel and a natural syrupy aroma that imitates a fresh fruit stand. Hops are apricot, peach, orange citrus and some pine and earthy residue. Sweet and underlying booze.

Big malt here, caramel sweetness that constantly dips into the toffee range, candy coating the fruitiness of the hops. Like the nose orange citrus forward with ripe apricot and yellow peaches. Pine and a large, smooth building alcohol washes over and through the finish where it picks up some grass and drying.

Above average body, with smooth carbonation, barely enough to move the malts along. This beer acts its strength, flaunting a well integrated alcohol set. Surprisingly dry and scrubbing on the finish.

A DIPA that plays up a bit, juicy, boozy and sweet, loaded with stone fruit and deep orange citrus. Well crafted and balanced, somewhat of a dinosaur when you look at the hop profile. Still if you like peaches and apricots this is a must try DIPA.

Major residual sweetness. Solid color and bitterness, but the nose has some excessive sweetness. Almost an artificial grape nose and taste. Their regular IPA is awesome so I'm hoping I got a bad or old batch. Will review again when I get a fresh bottle.

A – Cloudy orange color with good lacing

S – Stong orange, citrus with pine on the nose. Very small malt but with the seven hops a great hop blend.

T - pine, small yeast with the hops balanced to give a fresh all around taste. The big thing I get is orange.

M – medium heavy and some carbonation. Lingers more than I like but pretty solid for a DIPA

O – Very solid, not over the top on hops or malt. Has nice orange and citrus notes, but nothing too deep or complex.
