A – Cloudy orange color with good lacing

S – Stong orange, citrus with pine on the nose. Very small malt but with the seven hops a great hop blend.

T - pine, small yeast with the hops balanced to give a fresh all around taste. The big thing I get is orange.

M – medium heavy and some carbonation. Lingers more than I like but pretty solid for a DIPA

O – Very solid, not over the top on hops or malt. Has nice orange and citrus notes, but nothing too deep or complex.

Pours a strong 2 finger slightly-yellowed fluffy head over a cloudy straw-colored liquid. Smells of hay, grapefruit pith, oranges, pine, lemon pith, clean alcohol, sweet tarts, candied lemon. Complex and really inviting, though not particularly intense.

Tastes grapefruit pith, oranges, some pine, apricot ester. Candy-like, creamy custard-caramel, and a bit of baby aspirin. Malt sweet plays an appropriate supporting role, nice clean alcohol sting, creamy and medium in the mouth. Tastes a a strong version of a classic IPA from the late 1990's/early 2000's. Easy drinking, if that can be said for such a strong beer. Though wet in the mouth, drying in the finish. Mild carbonation and lingering metallic grassy hop bitter. Loved this beer, though not sure it fits what others are doing with the style.

650ml bottle from a huge liquor store in the western Denver suburbs.

This beer pours a hazy medium golden apricot hue, with three fingers of puffy, rather bubbly off-white head, which leaves some nice splattered amoebic lace around the glass as it slowly dips out of sight.

It smells of grapefruit and orange pith, green herbs, a dank leafiness, wet pine needles, a grainy, slightly bready malt, and a subtle alcohol edge. The taste is more acrid citrus and pine undergrowth, some further muddled tropical fruit notes, musty backyard leaves, a bready, somewhat crackery caramel maltiness, and floral, kind of perfumed, soft booze.

The carbonation is fairly even-handed, just a mild hum throughout, the body a steady medium weight, and more-or-less smooth, with a simple creaminess, the hops and alcohol having better things to do than spoil the fun here. It finishes off-dry, the sassy, well-rounded fruitiness standing out.

A pretty enjoyable DIPA, maybe not in-your-face hoppy (despite 7 different 'C' hops), but that's more than made up for by a deft integration with the other players - the laid-back, everything will just be all right malt, and a fantastically understated booze factor. Very recommended for a 'drinkable' version of the style.

Bomber bottle from a trade with my buddy Mitch in colo.

I can find no freshness/bottling date info

Pours clouded typical almond amber, nice looking fine bubble off white head. Leaves a fine film and fields of scattered bits of lace.

Herbal and leafy hop nose with a hint of tea.

Tasty, enjoyable and nicely crafted DIPA. Hops continually present on the palate, but not overwhelming the malty undercoating.

Super smooth on the tongue, dangerously easy drinking, very tasty Colorado DIPA
