On-tap at the brewpub. A malty beverage, a bit much on the carbonation.Malty aroma. Dark coloured, very lacey. A bit more than average mouthfeel, caramel. Drinkable. There is a superior barrel aged version, and this is not it. Plain for the style, and there are better beers here.

Bligh's is HMS Bounty Old Ale that has been aged in Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Barrels and aged for over 6 months.

A - Poured out a clear, copper/amber color with a small, off-white head of thick foam. It receded slowly to leave behind some sudsy lace.

S - Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla! Some oaky notes with rich caramel malt character.

T - The strong vanilla aroma mellows to a moderate touch in the flavor. Sweet bready malt and caramel with a touch of bourbon. There is a mild floral hop bitterness to even this one out.

M - It was soft and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

D - This was another treat from Dry Dock. So glad my friends brought this growler back from their GABF trip.

Had a glass on tap here at the Dry Dock Brewing Company.

Vanilla and oak are all over this dark brown ale; the flavors sit beneath a velvety head that clings to the side of the glass. There is a slight boozy flavor (6.9% ABV), but it is covered by a sweet aftertaste that lingers far after the sip is over.

Definitely one to sit & savor. Great beer!

I had this one on tap at The Rackhouse yesterday afternoon. Poured a hazy dark brown color with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of oak, toffee, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, this one was medium bodied, smooth and easy to drink, with flavors of oak, whiskey, toffee and vanilla.

Poured by a hand pull at Dry Dock Anniversary party. Didn't quite look like a real beer engine; goose neck was submerged about half way down the beer.

Looked like a Boddington's. Dark creamy, caramel color. Head was huge 4 fingers, creamy...again Boddington's. Good looking beer, but not for the style, imho.

Malty aroma. Some vanilla and pecan.

Malty flavors. Seems rich in flavor, but a bit thin in feel. Especially given the huge head.

Would be nice with a ham and cheese sandwhich. It's nothing spectacular, but a solid first beer for the day.

On tap at the falling rock.

A- pours a deep dark ruby to brown color. Opaque but still very clear, filtered. Head is light, just a light off white film.

S- hints of caramel, toffee and alcohol. Is this barrel aged? I detect some oaking and bourbon.

T- starts off lightly sweet, but then immediately takes on a bourbon character. Malty sweet, no hopping. Finishes somewhat hot, lightly boozy. Aftertaste is cloying.

M- very full bodied - light carbonation. Very sticky, no retained bitterness.

D- scary drinkable. For these barrel flavors, they are very well integrated, smooth. No idea on Abv, but I bet these can hurt a bit.

Highly recommended.
