On tap at the brewery. Yummy. "Colonial, made with corn and molasses" I was told. Dark brown pour, tastes of molasses and malt, brown bread, easy drinkability. A very good choice. I would absolutely get this again.

In honor of old Bennie's 306th Bday, this was on tap. I've had other breweries' sample of this beer, may as well try DD's.

Pours a turbid brown, rich red. Off brown head, pretty good lacing. Looks like and old beer from Ben's kitchen.

Nutty and caramel aroma. More nutty. Sweet brown bread, some black pepper spice here and there. Subtle but good.

Taste is nutty as well. Some bread and caramel. Grainy a tad. This one has a bit of a mineral bite to it. Earthy and not sweet like some others I've had. I dunno, just doesn't seem to fit the profile of Franklin...but who the hell am I?

Good beer. Would pair well with many meals

On tap at the brewpub. Reddish body with little head, butvery lacey. Toasted malt, mollasses, good drinkability. Tasted as a British style, mollasses making it seem porterish. apparently the original Franklin recipe with corn, which gave it an unusual sweetness. Average mouthfeel.
