Dry Dock Hop Abomination: The first thing you will notice is that this beer is opaque, like solidified honey. The head is thin and carbonation non-existent. It looks very much like a home brew or real micro-micro brew. The aroma is fantastic, very fruity. The flavor is not what you would expect from a Hop Abomination. It is very smooth, very flavorful in a hop flowery way with many, many notes, and not at all bitter or dry. The finish you could call wet. This will not become my go to IPA, but it is a great beer on the occasion that you want something a little different. Show this one off to your hop buddies. (615 characters)

12 oz can. Pours a hazy amber tea color with a small white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is surprisingly muted - a little pine and tropical fruit.

The flavor is sweet caramel biscuity malt with a decent amount of bitterness in the finish. It's not very flavorful hoppiness though - a touch of fruit and some pine. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and pretty watery.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment given their DIPA. (466 characters)

Amber colored with excellent clarity. A fingernail of tan colored foam sits on top. Aroma of piny hops and light malt greets my nose. I taste piny hops and light malt. The mouth is slightly chewy and sticky. (211 characters)

Appearance - out of a can I cannot see much, but having had this on tap it pours nicely

Smell - nice citrus notes with a great malty backbone

Taste - lots of malt for sure. Not much littering from the hops with just a slight floral note to it.

Mouthfeel - pretty easy drinking beer.

Overall - nothing special, but still a very drinkable IPA (344 characters)

A small off white head quickly dies into a very thin lacing above a thick unfiltered particle filled IPA.

Citrus, light pine notes, light grasses, and an even light yeastiness all in the aroma of the beer.

Big citrusy to piney hops in the taste of this IPA, seems to be less of the west coast style in the taste then there was in the aroma but this is not a bad thing. A very easy drinking citrusy IPA style of beer.

A dryish citrusy aftertaste on this medium bodied beer.

I have found my favorite Dry Dock beer, well until I get the chance to visit the place and do their sampler anyway. (592 characters)

12oz can, another mixed pack selection from the King Soopers in Glendale, Colorado. Cool menacing roiling sea imagery depicted on the label.

This beer pours a hazy, dark bronzed amber hue, with two flabby fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and overly bubbly ecru head, which leaves a decent array of bleeding webbed lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.

It smells of dank piney forest, orange and white grapefruit rind, grainy pale and caramel malt, a chalky flintiness, and further leafy, floral hops. The taste is more bitter, slightly dank, and certainly resinous green petrichor notes, crackery pale malt, a reduced biscuity caramel sweetness, a touch of lemon floor cleaner, and the same late-arriving floral, slightly perfumed hops from the nose.

The carbonation is fairly sedate, just a wispy frothiness manifesting for the most part, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth, though a slight clamminess arises at the first sign of warming. It finishes off-dry, the lingering pale and caramel malt tag-alongs keeping things on the level, and the Smokey the Bear hops maintaining their astringent stance.

An interesting and enjoyable enough version of the style, though the hops seem more restrained and dulled than the better examples available out there. Still, a good find in canned format, all the better to make it under that no-smiles 50lb United Airlines checked bag limit. (1,413 characters)

Served cold in a pint glass at the brewery.

Hop Abomination 9 is a hazy copper color with thin white head. It leaves behind a nice layer of lace as it settles.

Aroma is super hoppy and fresh with big citrus, especially grapefruit.

Flavor is very intensely hoppy but not overpoweringly bitter. Pale malt base with a little caramel provides the backbone for a huge hit of fresh dank hops.

Mouthfeel is medium light bodied and perfectly carbonated.

Overall an excellent extra IPA. (484 characters)

Cheers to SteveO fo this one!

Pours a hazed apricot with a thumb of cream colored head. Good lacing & above average head retention

S: Pine & faint breadyness, plus orchard fruit

T: Pine, lemons, breadyness & pears up front. Some peppery & woody hops, a kiss of caramel & dryness as this warms, plus some grapefruit. Finishes dry, fruitty with grapefruit & woody hops

MF: Medium bodied, slight carbonation, good balance

A pretty good AIPA, was hoping for better from these guys (481 characters)

A big thanks to the legendary woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of hops, lots of fruits. Taste is well balanced hops and malts, fruity, dry at the finish and tasty. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer. (302 characters)

Look: Pinkish amber in color. Thick streaks of "sediment?" and no carbonation. Half a finger of off white head dissipates quickly. Better than expected lacing.

Smell: Sticky piney resin. Light tropical fruit undertones.

Taste: Caramel and toffee up front. Light and quick. Nearly missed it. Middle bridges nicely to end but offers nothing new to the profile. Finish is bitter, though not as much as I was expecting. Piney and light lemon citrus.

Feel: Medium body and pretty dang dry finish. A little thin but damn close.

Overall: Pretty decent everyday IPA. Likable but not lovable. I would still rather have a SN Torpedo. Worth a six pack. Maybe it'll sit with you better than me. Above average. Not terribly much to it. (726 characters)
