A: Pours very dark, nearly black. A dark tan head settles at the top. Leaves a good amount of lacing behind.
S: Smells like dark, roasted chocolate with quite a bit of sweetness. A hint of wood scent in there as well.
T: That roasted chocolate is at the forefront, with some toasty malt and coffee notes as well. A good amount of bitterness follows and lingers after swallow.
M: As one might expect for a stout, pretty thick and heavy, though the sharp carbonation helps balance it a little. Definitely good for the cooler nights.
D: I tried this the first time and fell in love. Fans of winter stouts can find a lot to like here.
