A highly hopped, moderate bodied beer which comes in at 5.4% ABV. The hops schedule includes healthy doses of Chinook, Cascade, and Amarillo, and is tuned perfectly to provide the hops bitterness explosion that IPA fans seek without a lingering bitter aftertaste.

Had a chance to try this on a recent visit to West Virginia. It was a welcome respite from what was generally available down there. Not as hop forward as I like in an IPA, but given what else was available down there I really liked it. Don't see myself seeking it out but would drink again if I ever find myself down there again.

Pours a great clear yellow gold but be careful this beer is bottle conditioned and they don't spell that out on the bottle. I ended up with a cloudy beer full of live yeast. I really can't call this an IPA. It lacks any real hop flavor or smell. To me it taste more like an Amber. There is a bit of bitter to the end of the beer but I think that is from the yeast more than the beer. Save your money on this one.

Undated bottle at 40 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of conifers, not very strong
Head small (2 cm), white, frothy, diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing fair – some irregular islands of various size bubbles
Body light orangish-amber, hazy
Flavor begins moderately bitter with piney resin; no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl; ends with a slight sweetness, leaving a chalky aftertaste.
Palate light to medium, watery, soft carbonation.

Overall – meh. Another average IPA – the only thing special is that it’s from West Virginia, a hard state for tickers to find a local beer
