Coal Black and creamy smooth, this beer holds a light tan head and is surprisingly light in body - so it won't fill you up.

Maybe this one had been sitting around for too long before I opened it... tried it out of the bottle at a ski resort in WV. Tasted a little too light and watery for a stout. A little toasty with notes of chocolate, but lacked the heaviness I've come to associate with stouts.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a perfect pint glass

L - It looks black until held to the light and some ruby red highlights come through. It is topped with three inches of tan head that leave some lacing on the glass.

S - I smell some dark chocolate and roasted malt giving the slightest burnt toast aroma.

T - The taste is similar to the smell. The roasted malt comes through more. It has a modest bitter finish.

F - Medium

O - It's better than their Seneca Indian Pale Ale. It's decent and quaffable. It pairs nicely with Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter."

Got to try this on a recent visit to West Virginia. Tasty and very drinkable. Probably not as much punch as I would expect in an Oatmeal Stout, but a pretty good local option. Worth trying, but I don't think you would see much distribution outside of West Virginia.
