Poured Stout into a Pint glass.

A - Pours black as midnight with half of finger of light mocha head.

S - Dark roasted malts with not much else.

T - Whew, much better than the smell. Getting smooth roasted malts, light bitter coffee. A little watery mid palate. On the aftertaste getting more roasted malts and light chocolates and coffee.

M - Medium carbonation and medium mouthfeel.

O - Not the worst stout but not the best either. Cheers!

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours pitch black with a half finger dark tan head. Decent head retention but not much at all in the way of lacing.

Aroma of heavily roasted malt along with some espresso and dark chocolate. Pretty typical for the style and nothing exceptional really stands out.

Lots of roast character in the flavor with a touch of ashy smokiness that blends nicely with the roast. Chocolate is a little less noticeable along with the coffee. Roast and smoke are the predominant flavors. Mouthfeel is slick and a little thin finishing with a touch of stickyness.

Overall, a completely average run of the mill American stout. There are no flaws but there is nothing that really stands out either.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Founders Snifter. Thanks to RocPorterFanatic for the hookup on both the glass and the brew!

A: Deep brown color. Aggressive pour leads to a deep beige colored 1 finger growing head that then slowly disappears. No lacing to speak of.

S: Roasted chocolate malts, cocoa, some dark fruits but this isn't a very complex aroma.

T: Pretty simple stout in nose and flavor. Roasted malts and some cocoa. Pretty average American Stout.

M: Medium bodied, carbonation is a little on the low side. A touch thin if I'm honest.

O: A sessionable stout, decent but not great.

A: The beer is nearly jet black in color; slight traces of red are visible near the edges of the glass when it is held up to the light. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that eventually completely faded away.
S: There are aromas of chocolate malts in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of chocolate malts along with some hints of dark fruits towards the finish, the latter of which becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
M: It feels a bit shy of medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout has some interesting chocolaty flavors but seems like it could use a little more body in the mouthfeel.

Looks like a run of the mill stout. Smell is of chocolate and roasted malts. Extremely well balanced taste. Not earth shattering, but very drinkable (I was told it's 6.5%) and well balanced. The chocolate notes really come through in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but all things considered, you'd do a whole lot worse than picking up some of this stout.

Black beer with a thin, brown head. Smells of smoky, roasted, creamy, luscious, salty dark chocolate and coffee. One of the better-smelling stouts I've encountered. Very smoky flavor with some dark chocolate notes. This is a really unique and enjoyable beer.
