Appearance: Nice "smoke". Pours a dark, but clear brown; transparent. 3/4" beige head, quickly fades to frothy 1/8". nice retention. Good lacing rings.
Aroma: Caramel malts; roast, but not the heavy bloody/flinty smell some brown ales have. Can smell the maple, especially after it warms up a bit. Distinctive, with a very sweet aroma.
Mouthfeel: Midweight to light.
Taste: Dry, clean arrival, with a roasty, mild sweetness across mid-palate. Slight taste of alcohol; dry finish with a slight lingering roastiness.
Overall: Wow. Really impressed. Glad I bought two. Will be buying again, a real winner.

Mt. Carmel Nut Brown Ale has a medium, fluffy, cream-colored head, a sort of brilliant rust-red-brown appearance, and a lace curtain left on the glass. The aroma is of sweetness, maybe some syrup, malt, and possibly a bright fruit of some sort. Taste is of sweetness, a touch of syrup, brown bread crust, and a noticeable, somewhat unpleasant bitterness, like one will get from pecan shell. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Mt. Carmel Brown Ale finishes semi-wet and easy drinking.
