12oz can from the bros; pours light burnt copper bordering on amber, clear with an off-kahki head. Aroma is reminiscent of an amber ale with lots of toffee notes, mellow sweetness, and some present hops bordering on resiny. Still tasty, but not what I expected.

A local beer that I have not consumed. The beer is 44 degrees and served in a nonic. The pour of the beer produced a massive two-fingered head with excellent retention. The ivory tan head is frothy and airy. As the head dissipated, it left thick lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM16, a deep brown with bright ruby high lights. Not much activity is going on within the beer. The appearance of the beer is typical but happy to see a lasting head with lacing.
The initial aromas in the beer are pale toasted malts, nuttiness, crackers, and biscuits. Next, I smell a touch of floral, a touch of caramel, molasses, citrus, earthiness, and a hint of pine. The aromas are not expressive.
The flavors in the beer are nuttiness, crackers, toasted bread crust, earthy, leather, scones, caramel, char, fire, smoke, chocolate, molasses, citrus, grapefruit, floral esters, and pine resin.
The mouthfeel of the beer is slightly astringent and dry.
The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and a medium finish.
The beer is a solid brown ale. It has more hops than I would traditionally find in these beers. Furthermore, this brown ale is not sweet at all. The aromas in the beer were not as intense. The aromas came across as muted, but the taste made up for this. I enjoy the brewers take on this beer. I could sit down and sip pints and enjoy a few slices of pie.

nothing radical here at all, but a very well made brown ale that certainly hits all the marks for the style, its less sweet than many, had plenty of flavor, and stays light enough to be a very drinkable brown, which seems less common now than it used to be. what ever happened to brown ale anyway, seems like its been on the decline for years. nice to find this one, its real solid. looks the part in the glass, maybe equally red as it is brown, but i dont mind that, especially since there is plenty of chocolate malt character to this, its not all amber-esque and sweet, which i like. i often like a little more roasted depth in a brown, but i think its cool this one only goes so dark, definitely showcases another range of grain flavors, and helps keep the beer real drinkable, although a little of that bitterness could help with balance. there is a nice baked richness to this as well as a deep nutty complexion, almost desserty with the cocoa in the malt, although without being sugary, none of that molasses or brown sugar density so many of these incorporate. light biscuit to it too, and maybe a subtle english element outside of the yeast, this isnt borning even though its on the lighter side. a smooth feel to it too for being so light, and all up this is a brown ale that works year round really well, and i am thankful it exists.

On tap at the brewpub in Victor.
Clear, dark red-brown body with an off-white head that leaves some lacing on the glass.
Aroma: roasted grains and brown bread.
Flavor: lightly sweet up front but moderately bitter in the surprisingly hoppy finish.
Feel: medium body and medium carbonation.

Pours a semi-opaque brown color with a small tan head of foam. It has a nice roasted aroma with a hint of biscuity malt. It has a mild bitter bite to go with sweet caramel and light chocolate flavors.
