This is just a college joint that has a bit of an Irish Pub feel. The service is really pretty bad, some hot college girls that don't do much when it is not buisy. When the place is buisy, you can't get a seat or a beer. Go before about 10:00pm. The atmosphere is nice, a big wood bar with a huge selection of booze (all kinds). Some tables out front with pool and darts in the back. Sometimes the music is way to loud and the lighting is very dim. Food is average. A good burger, wings, ect. I use to go there all the time for fish & chips on Friday (edit: that was when I went to school here. I have herd that they no longer serve food on a regular basis). It use to be 21 and over, now they have given into the drunk frat boy croud that so many other places in Carbondale have.

Anyway, on to the beer. The bottle list is pretty good, but don't expect to have an updated beer list. Half of what is on the list they do not have anymore, but may have added some. Lots of Sam Smith, Chimay, and a couple of Unibroue beers. Some good german hefe's as well. The tap list is generic and way below average for a beer bar. Guiness, Newcastle, Harps, Sam Adams, Killian's, and maybe one or two more. The staff is clueless about what they have, but will try and track what ever you want down (it may take a while). Don't expent to get correct glasswere, and the pint glass will be frozen. Be sure to check freshness because they don't have a lot of turn around. The taps can be dirty at times as well.

I was suprised to see this listed as a beer bar. The bottle list is decent, but becides Sam Adams some SN, and maybe Rogue they don't have any us micro's. Though this is probably the place I visited the most when I went to school at SIU because it was 21 and over then. It is a fun place and I really do have great memories, but it is not a beer bar by any means. Just a nice college joint to hang out at.
