Nice to see this at the Echo Tap.
Color is a muted orange/wheat with a bit of haziness to it. The head looks amazing, just a finger-plus cream cap of olfactory and visual orgasm.
The smell is very refreshing. Simply a blast of wheat, plus some cloves along with some banana undertones.
It tastes fantastic. Superb wheat flavor smashes my tastebuds with surprising force. The aforementioned smells play a part in the taste, but just enough to create a pedestal for the brazen wheat to stand upon gloriously.
This is sounding pretty cheesy, but I really liked this beer.
After having Weihenstephaner though, it's tough for any hefeweisse to stand up for 5's.
The Paulaner isn't quite as easy drinking in comparison, since the body feels a bit heavy for a hefeweizen, and the wheatiness is a bit over the top to be seriously sessionable.

A: Hazy amber-gold, murkily translucent in the light; initial giant fluffy eggshell head;
S: clove, banana, yeast, minerality, bubblegum
T: yeast and malt, apples, banana, phenol (band-aid)
M: medium-bodied, dryish
O: not bad, but not especially commendable. Wonderful, rich pour, but average quality.

Appearance: Pours unexpectedly clear, very light haze - large, fluffy, creamy head that sticks around for quite some time - leaves blobs of lacing - quite attractive
Smell: Definitely has the aromas of a traditional German Hefeweizen, but perhaps on the mellow side (not necessarily a bad thing) - moderately yeasty, with some nice banana esters, clove, and phenols - some pale malts and wheat, not as wheaty as some others of the style - again, on the mellow side overall
Taste: In a word, archetypical - this about as Hefeweizen-y as a Hefeweizen gets - yeasty flavors, with banana, clove, and phenols - lightly earthy - maybe a hint of light citrus - pale grains and some touches of wheat - finishes clean and refreshing
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, nicely smooth thanks to the wheat, clean
Overall: Definitely better than the one with artificial wheat
This is a very good Hefeweizen. Nothing particularly stands out, however. It's just a well-rounded, easy to drink beer. It's not going to blow any minds, but it's worth a try.
