Was scrounging around in the local beer store and came upon a full and completely neglected case of this next to an equally fresh new case of Aventinus.
Started pouring this sucker and it was golden but very clear and started getting disaapointed. But once you start you can't stop so I swilled the bottle and kept on pouring. Man, if I was lacking yeast a second before, my glass was FULL of it now. This is proably the cloudiest Hefe I've seen. Great apperance. Delicous honey-wheat color.
First taste I thought I had refigerated this beer a little too cold as it was extremely smooth but lacking in complexity. This got much better as my drinking continued and all the subtle nuiances began to show themselves. It snowed here today, so I can only imagine this beer on a warm summer day.
Probably the best Hefe I've had to date, and one I'd use to show the style to any newcomers.

Sampled last night on 7/21/14. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a "Cheers-Boston' handled glass stein.
Pours a hazy golden pour with a good 2- finger thick head that lasted a while. Left lots of lacing when sipped. Smells of wheat with sweet orange and spice. The taste was pretty much the same and on the sweet side. Very easy to drink and no bad aftertaste. Hefeweizens are all over the board and this one is one of the best!

Poured a nice deep golden color with two fingers of fluffy white head. Quite nice in appearance and very true to form. Scents of clove-like phenols, banana-like esters, hints of bubblegum and some doughy, bready wheat malt. A good aroma that is true to style, though not standout. Flavor begins with a nice sweet banana flavor with hints of clove and grainy malt balancing. In the middle light bubblegum flavors join the banana and clove and add depth. Finish is semi-sweet, with notes of banana, clove, bubblegum and grainy malt. Aftertaste is grainy wheat malt and clove. A good, though basic hefeweizen flavor profile. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with high carbonation and a smooth, creamy feel. Quite pleasant and very true to style. Overall this is a good basic hefeweizen that hits the main notes of the style, though it doesn't do a great deal to standout. Still a nice beer and very refreshing in Summer.
