Bottle poured into a Weizen glass.
A- It poured a hazy golden yellow with a 1" off-white head. Medium carbonation was apparent toward the bottom of the glass which was more transparent. I swirled the end of the pour to get out the yeast and there were still remnants left in the bottom of the bottle. There was good lacing.
S- Sweet and bready scent. There were a lot of aromas I assume are caused by the wheat and the yeast. The banana scent was present, but didn't jump out at you like some other Hefes.
T- More complex than some hefes. Up front there was some citrus flavor along with the classic banana flavor which seemed to be backed up by spice. There were some sweet malts apparent also.
M- Typical wheat feel with medium carbonation.
D- I've been a fan of the Paulaner version of the Hefe Weizen for a number of years now. It is a Summer favorite and is perfect for a mid-day tipple.

Poured a nice deep golden color with two fingers of fluffy white head. Quite nice in appearance and very true to form. Scents of clove-like phenols, banana-like esters, hints of bubblegum and some doughy, bready wheat malt. A good aroma that is true to style, though not standout. Flavor begins with a nice sweet banana flavor with hints of clove and grainy malt balancing. In the middle light bubblegum flavors join the banana and clove and add depth. Finish is semi-sweet, with notes of banana, clove, bubblegum and grainy malt. Aftertaste is grainy wheat malt and clove. A good, though basic hefeweizen flavor profile. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with high carbonation and a smooth, creamy feel. Quite pleasant and very true to style. Overall this is a good basic hefeweizen that hits the main notes of the style, though it doesn't do a great deal to standout. Still a nice beer and very refreshing in Summer.

12oz. bottle poured into a hefe glass.
A- gorgeous dark gold with orange hints, cloudy, especially after the swirl and dump at the bottom of the bottle.
S- some yeasty sweetness, spices, mainly clove, hints of lemon peel.
T- some banana bread sweetness up front, then you get the hints of spice (cloves mainly), hints of bubble gum. Good flavors, I just wish the flavor intensity was ramped up.
M- Pretty heavy for a hefe, very active carbonation.
O- It's good, but is a notch below it's German counterparts.
