Marketed as "Weissbier" internationally. In USA sold as "Hefe-weizen"
It’s the #1 wheat beer in Germany and one of the world’s favorites. In fact, beer experts call it a masterpiece. In developing this beer, the Paulaner brewmasters have perfected a unique technique with “yeast suspension,” resulting in a uniform, slightly cloudy appearance, consistent quality, and perfect taste.

A: On tap at the Firkin & Fox on Wolf Rd in Colonie. It took the bartender quite some time to pour a glass (a pint glass, I should mention) that wasn't all head. When she finally got me a glass full of beer instead of foam, it was light orange with a white head that left nice rings of lacing on the way down. At least she asked whether I wanted a lemon (I said no thanks) instead of just putting it in. . . .
S: Cloves, orange peel and a hint of lemon.
T: Same stuff as the nose: wheat, cloves, orange peel and lemon zest. Finishes pretty clean.
M: Light in body, as expected. Slightly creamy while at the same time it's somewhat spritzy in feel.
D: Very good. Tasty but light, a great beer for the summer.

My second favorite Hefe! Beautiful cloudy gold on the pour, with puffy white head, and ample lace. Aroma is sweet fruit and bread. Citrus and banana flavors come through to start, with a crisp clean finish. A wonderful beer at a fair price.

Actually rather disappointed, i may have had a dodgy batch because the colour was a murky brown rather than the amber i have seen it on adverts, aroma was mild and taste was ok, not a lot of complexity and fewer clove and bana notes than your typical weißbeer.

First and foremost, this beer is now called Paulanr Hefe-Weizen Munich Wheat Beer and while I have drank this beer over the years I have never actually done any sort of review over it..until now.
Look: Its dark orange, almost bordering on a brownish color, with quite a bit hazyness associated with it.
Smell: Some people get orange notes, for me personally I get a upfront bread smell with a small amount of grape and orange in the backdrop, it honestly smells like a solid well rounded beer with nothing off-putting to the nose.
Taste: I get a sweet banana bread flavor with light grape and orange notes at the end of the palate. Something to note (at least to me) is that beside the sweet banana bread taste, as more as I drink the can I do get a more prevalent wheat taste that seems to linger longer on my palate as I finish the can.
Feel: As far as drinkability is concerned, it is a little more bitter then the average wheat beer is concerned, but the bitterness goes away after a while. The beer is very smooth and goes down easily.
Overall: As a fan of wheat beer, this beer is an excellent choice if you want to pound down a few beers and get a good buzz going. At 5.5 % it is average ABV but the quality of this beer is really what brings it out. For me I am giving this beer a score of 4.5.

Wheat beer at it's finest. This is one of the best hefeweizen's available next to Weihenstephaner and Franziskaner. I highly recommend this to those looking for wheat beer with class. It is a true hefeweizen, brewed in Germany, and truly highlights the flavor profile and characteristics that define a wheat beer. I gave this brew a 5 star rating. It deserves it.

Comes in a very dark gold color, bordering on light brown. Hazed, but still transparent. Nice creamy white cap of head. Great retention and lacing!
Not getting much aroma through the thick head. Malted wheat, some sweetness, faint apple and banana notes.
Nice pop of sweetness upfront; banana bread, green apple skins, lemon zest, green/unripe banana, hint of clove, but more so hay on the finish. Finishes clean and crisp with just a touch of lingering sweetness.
Nice mouthfeel, fluffy carbonation, pillowy head, smooth body, crisp finish without wateriness.
A fantastic German Hefeweizen. I'd rank Weihenstephaner higher as my favorite, but this comes close. It's one of the best Hefeweizens you're going to easily find.

Another Hefeweizen I can always count on.
Paulaner Hefeweizen smells like Banana and fresh bread with some slight citrus aftertaste. It looks like the standard wheat beer— albeit a bit darker than usual brands. It’s cloudy, golden and foamy. The taste is where it’s at— starting of with a hint of spices and citrus before evolving into a bready and bitter finish. The tastes linger in your mouth for many minutes after your last sip. One of the best Hefeweizens ever!

500ml bottle, 5,5% abv, Poured in a Wiessenglass. Yellow Amber hazy colour. 2 finger off-white head. Small to medium bubbles carbonation.
Smell, bread, banana, clove, little citric acidity.
Smouth mouth feel. Taste a little bit more nutty and more spiced than most Weissenbeers. Light bitter yeasty aftertaste.
Very good beer, However, being one of the more expensive ones in its category, I'd rather buy the more drinkable and smoother Franziskaner.

Poured from a 500ml bottle .
Pours milky orange-brown , plenty of sediment with a short lived thin white head , a bit ugly.
The smell is strong funky yeast ,wheat , citrus and maybe a touch of honey a d the taste follows on with yeast leading the way in an almost Belgiun ale fashion ,there's bags of orange , coriander, Christmas spices a mild sweetness and scant bitterness.
The mouthfeel is borderline foamy in a good way , not at all watery .
Overall, disappointing to look at but once tasted it's a different story . Somewhat strange and an acquired taste but once you get into it it's like a German weissbier meets a Belgian pale ale in flavour and it works very very well.
