This is a typical Bavarian Weiss beer. It is produced in very large ammounts, yet its quality has stayed in very high levels. I use it as a refference point for judging most Weiss beers. Any Weiss better that this would be exceptional, anything worse would not be my first choice. It is available both in bottle and on-tap. Its color and (non) clarity are in typical levels for its style. I find its smell very good but somehow weak for a weiss. Good thing its taste is strong enough to enjoy it, yet not too strong to overwelm your mouth and throat (and head). Thus, it you can start and end your evening with nothing but this beer - and be very happy abou it!

A cloudy but vibrant orange body supports a soft, thick off-white head. Great retention, decent lacing, and tons of carbonation. Exactly what you'd expect from a beer of the style.
Again, exactly what you should expect from a hefe. Potent banana and bubble gum aroma with a pleasant hay and sweet malt backing.
Heavy wheat and damp hay hit right up front with the staple flavors of the style, banana and bubble gum. Light Belgian yeast. Light coriander and pepper spice it up.
Nice and light! Refreshing, light body and plenty of carbonation. Clean finish is a bit on the sweet side.
A pretty solid hefe, but nothing here makes it stand out. A good summer beer, sure to please.

Served from a 16.9 oz. bottle,
Pours a semi-cloudy copper orange with an impressive of white head. Foam settles down after a minute to a thin white coating.
Aroma a bit more restrained than I would prefer, but pleasant nonetheless. Malty wheat notes predominate, with faint banana notes in background.
Taste also dominated by typical malt wheat flavors, with ripe banana moving into the foreground. Some tartness comes through as well.
Nicely carbonated, but a bit thin in terms of mouthfeel.
Paulaner might not be the best representative of its style available, but it's still a solid and well appreciated effort.
