Color is a pale light copper. Rapid carbonation. Slightly off color head, thick at first and lingers with numerous craters forming. Lacing so thick I thought I was drinking whipped cream. Sharp banana, citrus and clove smell, not overpowering though.

A delicate, smooth taste. A touch of wheat and a bit of citrus but not as strong as other beers I have had in this class. Smooth finish, no aftertaste. immediately want to take another sip.

Pours a hazy mellow light orangish yellow, huge head, huge carbonation, exellent lacing. Aroma of raw wheat, malted wheat and a light dose of banana and clove esters. Flavor of malted wheat, and a fair dose of hefe yeast flavor, esters and very well balanced and the beer finished crisp and clean.

Poured from the 500ml bottle into a weizen glass.

A: Straw, light golden and hazy. Pretty hefty carbonation pours into giant, frothy, white head. Slowly settles forming littles mountains and craters as it does. Eventually leaves a little layer of bubbly foam on the surface of your brew to keep it nice and cozy. Rather persistent carbonation continues to rise. Nice spotty lacing clings desperately to sides of the glass as you drink, slowly retreating back into the body of the brew.

S: Wheat, yeast, lemon, and a little spice (oregano, cloves, basil. . . that sort of thing), even a slight fresh-baked bread sort of thing working.

T: Wheat and citrus, touch of spice.

M: Light, refreshing, but kind of coats the palette. Wheat is subdued but significant. The citrus and spice follow up. The citrus sticks with you for a bit.

D: Great drinkability. Flavor and feel are just about right.

Great atmosphere. Nose has a certain pleasing harmonious complexity. Flavor is simple, but full and well balanced. Light but satisfying feel. All this adds up to . . . 12+17(3/4*26), let's see, carry the 9 . . . a great quaff.

When I first poured this brew into my weizen glass a large fluffy white head began to form and quickly rose to the top of the glass. This inch and a half head quickly dissipated though and left a nice lacing around the side of the glass. The color is a hazy yellowish-orange and you can tell there is a good amount of carbonation here.

The nose is exactly what I would expect from a quality unfiltered wheat beer. I definitely detect citrus and banana, as well as a hint of spice. You can also catch some hops in there as well. Overall, a very sweet smell

Typically a summer beer, I have no problem drinking this in December. The first flavor I taste is citrus and banana. Then the wheat makes its appearance along with some spice and in the finish I catch a bit of the hops and some bitterness. This is a lighter-bodied beer than many other hefeweizens, but it just adds to the drinkability.

Cloudy, golden wheat color. Looks smooth and fantastic

Amazing khaki colored head retention - a full finger of head all the way to the end. Lacing all over a .5 L Weihenstephaner glass.

Crisp sweetness - a perfect balance of wheat malty flavor ad hops. A strawberry/banana flavored aftertaste.

Great beer, I'll definitely revisit this one, or six

Pretty much the classic Hefeweizen besides Weihenstephan and Franziskaner. Poured it into a hefeweizen glass and ended up with a great head! Very smooth beer, slight fruity and banana flavors, etc. There is not really much to add to this beer. A classic!

Very hearty pour into my Hacker-Pschorr weisse glass yields a cloudy, yet bright orange and sunshine hue. Three finer head after my perect and hearty hefe pour, recedes to a film of foam. Hardly any bubblig for a weiss beer. Grassy and dry bananas and cloves in the somewhat talcy nose. Somewhat citrusy hops add a cross-point of flavor to the talcum powder dry cloves and bananas. One of the drier hefeweizen beers I've ever had.

Finally got some more use out of my Weizen glasses.

This beauty poured a opaque orange yellow, with a nice head and lacing, typical of the style.

The aroma was wonderful. Full of banana and cloves with spices and a dash of citrus notes made this one hard to get away from my nose.

This beer really hits those banana and clove flavors very well. Finishes with a lemon and citrus twang that begs for more. One the best Hefeweizen's I've had to date!

The feel of this beer is good as well with a some medium body.

This has high drinkability written all over it. The only thing that gets to me about this beer is that it is filling. Despite this, it is still a superb beer.

Nice! Poured a cloudy, rich otangish yellow color with a nice white head. Nose is full of of wheat, citrus and banana. Very good and tasty indeed. Nice finish on the end, little tart but sweet to. Mouthfeel is medium and good, not to heavy or light. Very tasty and better than I imgagined.

Appearance: Pours mildly cloudy with decent head retention. Not a ton of cling.
Smell: Wheaty aroma with a little fruit in the background. Also possesses a mild 'dusty' odor.
Taste: Wheat very apparent, spicy clove, and even banana pull through at the middle of the tasting. Finishes a little sweeter that other hefeweizens I have sampled.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and very smooth.
Drinkability: Quite drinkable- a great summer drink, though I'm tasting this in the heart of winter!

No lemons needed for this beer. The taste profile of this hefeweizen should suffice for those looking for a tasty hefeweizen.

12oz bottle poured to pint glass

A: Pours a golden-copper color with a creamy two finger off-white head with pretty good retention.

S: Very sweet with lots of citrus, yeast, and wheat.

T: Not as flavorful as it smells. It's rather bland with traces of wheat and oranges.

M: Not very crisp or carbonated, it's fairly creamy actually.

D: very easy to drink a few of these...its a decent session beer. I'll buy more because I've always enjoyed Paulaner.

Served in a Franziskaner glass at 54.5°F (12.5°C).

A: Yellow, murky. Initally I can see many fine, fast-going bubbles but they dissapear quite quickly and after 2 minutes only a few big bubbles are present. The head on this beer is magnificent, staying thick and crispy for the entire review!

S: Yeasty, VERY yeasty. Apricot and citrusy sweetness. Weak banana smell, a bit fruity.

T: Woah, a whole lot of banana! Smooth and crisp, after a few sips there's also a bit of spiciness, like cloves and coriander - although quite weak. I did find the taste pretty weak (!), I'd like it if it had more of citrusy and spicier flavors. Too much banana flavor

M: Good, medium body. A bit watery to be honest.

D: Goes down like lemonade (make that banana lemonade), however more carbonation would be great.

Summary: Yeasty and citrusy smell, banana flavors and slightly weak, watery taste. It would make a decent summer beer though, if you're into fruitier and sweeter brews that are easy to drink

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a half litre stein.

Appearance: Orange copperish cloudy color. Mildly agressive pour yielded a very thick and foamy 2.5 finger head. Very cloudy as it should be.

Smell: smells of fake bananas, citrus spritz and a little bit of clove. Nice strong aromas but a little too fake for the style IMO.

Taste: tastes fresh, and light. citrus pop with some orange zest and some unripe bananas and mellons. Great.

Mouthfeel: carbonation is a little off i think. its got strong upfront bubbles but dissapates quickly throughout the session.

Drinkability: One of the better session beers IMO. tastes fresh, delicious and on point for the style.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy orange in color with a full inch of head. A less careful pour could easily triple the head size I've found. Retention and lacing are robust.

Aromas of banana and orange on the nose, lots of wheat. Improving and expanding as the beer warms a bit, becoming slightly tart but not sour.

Taste follows the nose with banana and wheat. Finishing with more of the orange flavors. Nice body and mouth feel with a lingering sweet breadiness on the finish. Good drinkability.

Preferred over the draft version, seeming fresher and more lively.

A..Poured from a "party keg." Light golden color, but I was disappointed in the amount of head created. I suspect this was the result of the keg and I might find a difference in a bottle pour. No real lace to speak of.

S..Nice wheat tones. Hints of what lies ahead.

T..Wheat, wheat and more wheat. Let's keep this Hefeweizen train rolling, with a splash of malt.

M..Medium.

D..A well made Hefeweizen. I'd like to try from a bottle and see how the experience changes, but I can have several of these in a session.

This beer pours to a brass but almost bronze body. It has a cloudiness that does not completely settle but clears up a bit. Both the beige head and lace are frothy with a lot of staying power. The aroma is a bit biscuity and spicy. The taste has hints of banana, malt and herbed gourmet bread. The mouthfeel is smooth with some carbonation bite.

Appearance: The head on this brew is the whitest for a beer I have ever seen. Quite foamy like an goof beer.

Color: is a cloudy yellowish gold with a white head. Well carbonated, very foamy and quite sweet to the nose

Smell: is sweet with a slight hint of lemon and orange. It is stronger than the usual Hefeweizen. Is not too strong though, and that it over powers you.

Taste: of citrus and a hint of nutmeg. It has a good hoppy taste to it and is a well balanced and does not overpower your taste buds.

Easy drinking and quite enjoyable, about 5.5% ABV rounds off the feel of this great Hefeweizen. It really is a great feeling beer that is not too rough on the palette. It is quite the tasty beer and will not be too much of a Hop overload.

$5.00 16oz. pint served at Front Page News in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours an opaque, obviously unfiltered, dark orange-gold body with a thin, fizzy, white head.

Smell: Wheat male nose with notes of honey, caramel, spice, muted citrus, grain, and unripened bananas.

Taste: Firm malted wheat flavor, appropriately tangy, and with a touch of sweet caramel. Light lemon and banana fruitiness. Dash of ground cloves. Light spicy hops with a mild bitterness. Drying finish with a hint of wheat chaff. As it warms a bit, a taste of unsweetened lemonade creeps into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high, fizzy carbonation.

Drinkability: Recommended. A classic, expertly-crafted hefe from the respectable Paulaner brewery.

A- Cloudy yellow appearance with a lot of head.

S- Definitely has that hefeweizen smell, but not as strong as most hefeweizens.

T- Excellent taste. Very well balanced beer. Not too fruity or sweet at all.

M- Very smooth mouthfeel for a hefeweizen.

D- One of the most drinkable hefeweizen's I have ever had.

Overall this is an excellent hefeweizen. One of the best and probably the most drinkable I have ever had.

A- Cloudy, orange-gold. 2 inch off-white head that slowly settles. Holds a nice lace throughout.

S- Bready wheat with notes of banana, lemon and some spice. Not an overpowering smell overall.

T- There is a bready-wheatness that can be noted throughout the whole taste. It's highlight with a fruity sweetness and tartness as well as banana and some spice on the end. An extremely well balance taste.

M- Silky and smooth. Lower but refreshing carbonation.

D- Extremely drinkable due to the mouthfeel and very well-balanced taste.

Overall, this is one of my favorite weisbiers. I compare most others to this one.
