11.2 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lovely carbonation. Aroma is of spicy yeast, wheat malt and ripe apples. Body is medium and crisp. Wheat malt, yeast, ripe pears and spices fill the mouth. Finish is light and fruity. Good brew but I’m not a fan of the style.

one of the most enjoyable beers you will ever drink, great all day long, a true labor of love went into making this fine beer, clean and crisp with just enough fruit flavors to give a distinct enjoyable taste, you won't go wrong in ordering this beer over and over...

The standard by which I measure all wheat beers. Crisp and refreshing but with great body and taste. Opaque with beautiful color. I've only had it in bottles but would love to try it on draft.

As good as the best Hefeweizen. Never ending flavors with superb drinkability. A+ all the way.

This classic was served on tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, New York. It arrived in a house 22oz. Weizen glass showing a murky sandstone apricot coloring. It held a fat two finger head of eggnog colored bubbles which remained with us, in some capacity, for the full duration of the tasting. Lacing was thick, laying down in rings and swirled patterns. Dense haze cut clarity, but no sediment was noted. Carbonation appeared to be active. The aroma was clean and fresh, offering notes of crispy wheat and crystal graininess, wet white and wheat flour, sweet and fruity banana esters, cooling date fruitiness, light lemon rind, raw whole coriander seed, the faintest cloven phenol, hints of sweet booziness, vanilla extract, parchment paper, doughy hefe yeast, and burnt toffee sugars. The taste followed with bittered and cooling wet wheaty wash that effectively cut a lot of the residual sweetness of those banana bread esters, white sugar inclusions, and soft caramel malts. Otherwise you got chemical phenol bite, subtle booze, lightly oxidized copper, cocoa butter, aloe, nutmeg and clover spice, eggnog lactics, faint pear fruitiness, greasy fried pickles, and singed crème brûlée topcoat. The body was easily medium, and the carbonation was high but soft. Each sip gave hearty slurp, smack, cream, froth, and pop, lending well to the seriousness of flavor. The mouth was left wet and coated upfront, but ultimately dried and powdery. The abv was appropriate, and the beer glugs away without notice.

Overall, as we’ve mentioned about a lot of these authentic German and Belgian beers, this offering is truly no-nonsense. Many Americanized versions, including stateside attempts even at authenticity, tend to overdo their recipes, especially when it comes to the grain. This either results in leeched tannins or way too much residual sugary sweetness. Here you get neither. The malts are serious, and both well positioned and approximately between the other necessary ingredients, rather than against them or overwhelming them. The spice and citrus remain complimentary and not overbearing, adding fresh zest to the final blended product. This is a wonderful beer, and reminds us not to forget these heavy hitting European beers. Many of us were drinking this at dinner, both beer nuts and not, so this could easily stand as a nice introductory beer for Blue Mooners stuck sitting on the fringe.
