Enjoyed on tap. Pours a hazy gold with a nice creamy and lasting white head.
Aroma is banana and clove with a hint of breadiness and floral hops.
Taste is banana and clove, although a bit more subdued than some German Hefes. A nice and crisp and slightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is very nice. Good body, almost creamy but with a refreshing amount of carbonation.
Perhaps not on the top of German Hefeweizens but still very, very good. A crisp, flavorful and refreshing brew.

Pours a nice creamy white head. The beer it self has a really nice hazy golden color. Banana, citrus, clove smell and taste. Low carbonation. It is a really smooth hefe. Can't go wrong with one of these.

This is a nice beer. It lacks the offensive fruity sweetness that plagues many lesser Hefeweizen. It has a brilliant texture, a great taste (though nothing particularly fantastic) and makes for a satisfying and very drinkable beverage. I prefer it to Schöfferhofer and Gutmann, though both of those are fairly enjoyable. The only German Hefeweizen I consistently enjoy every time I purchase it. Recommended.

Bottle poured into Teku - 2.5 months prior to "best by" date
Great head, pretty to look at. Banana, clove, citrus on the nose with an unexpected mustiness. Low hops, low bitterness, nice banana spice. Great hefe at a great price.

Poured into a Weizen glass. Huge white puffy head that slowly receded. Aromas of banana, clove, wheat and yeast. Initial taste was banana with yeast, cracker and clove with a slight lemon zing at the end. Highly carbed with a lightness on the palate. Great summer beer.

Had from a 500mL brown glass bottle purchased in Portland , OR with a best by date of 05/16.

Pours a deeply hazy orange body with a rich and inviting off-white head. A very fine perlage. It dissipates relatively quickly, but leaves a nice creamy lacing.

Effusive aromas of banana, clove, banana pudding, banana flan, citrus zest and lemon oil. It definitely has the aromas of a dessert, but not overtly sweet and even bordering on the ethereal.

Spritely and lithe on the palate with very ample carbonation as well as a nice refreshing citrusy acidic vein running throughout the beer. Finish of banana, clove, watery orange juice, and pastry. It's a bit thin and watery in the mid-palate. Smells a little like dessert, but tastes like refreshment.

In a hyper-globalized world, it's nice to see this brew continue its reign of excellence. Never disappoints.

Bottle. Golden pour, foamy white head. Aroma of banana yeast and wheat, the usual. Taste is yeasty and fruity, with banana, grain, yeast and wheat. Very good.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass

A- A hazy amber with an giant head indicative of a Hefes, no granules to pour in. Good retention on the head. Very sexy looking beer.

S- A little sweet and spicy banana-clove going up front, malt towards the end. Not much hops to my nose.

F- the taste follows the smell with some sweet banana and spices along with bready malt. Really quite refreshing, a perfect beer for the summer.

MF- Fairly crisp from carbonation I'm assuming, as there isn't much bitterness to it. On the lighter side for weight.

O- A fantastic hefe that I will buy again and again.

Appearance: Hazy/cloud amber under a 1” fluffy, creamy off-white head that persists with very fine bubbles that leave ledges of lace. Flavor: Sweet malt, banana, clove not much hop. Mouthfeel: very creamy, medium full body, smooth, medium high carbonation with very fine bubbles, very soft carbonation giving it a luscious texture. Overall: very drinkable beer that makes you want a plate of white sausages and potato pancakes.

Slightly chilled in my weizen glass.

Cloudy golden orange, complented by a rocky, four-centimeter mound of tight-knit, soft-as-silk, pure white foam that REFUSES to die down for a long while. Beauty.

Banana and clove greet my nose, along with floral lemon and some freshly-baked, yeasty soft pretzel. Smells scrumptious.

Lightly tart lemon is in the flavor, along with some subtle, herbal noble hops, and the finish is a crisp one of clean, biscuity white bread.

It's quite full-bodied. Ample carbonation, as expected.

This is a fine hefeweizen that holds its own with other German examples of the style.

The beer pours a cloudy amber-orange. Pour with the glass tilted somewhat vigorously and then stop Let the glass sit as the creamy head rises to 2+ fingers. Then slowly pour the rest of the beer into the glass. The head will rise up like a thick creamy milkshake. Sooo beautiful! The nose has a hint of grass at first followed by banana and bubblegum. The flavor is wonderful as it washes over your tongue with hints of banana, yeast and citrus on the tail end. I am not a big wheat fan but this is my favorite Hefe and in my top 5 beers. This beer is crisp and refreshing, especially in the summer and has a wonderful feel from the yeast. I probably drink more of this beer than others. Way to go Paulaner!

Normal nose but picked up slight bubblegum, bread, with banana. The nose had me impatiently awaiting my first sip. The taste followed the nose but was very slight. The beer was crisp and very refreshing. The taste was sublte but very tasty. I was very impressed with this beer and will buy more for the hot summer months.

This beer pours a slightly hazy yellow gold. The nose is bursting with banana, brown bread, toast, and general roasty notes. The flavor is complex, bready but light, with a pleasant acidity, tangy, and very satisfying. I have always said wheat beers are not my thing, but this and Sierra Nevada Kellerweis have convinced me otherwise. When done well, a wheat beer can be awesome. Nothing like a classic to convert you to a flavor.

This beer is as classic as wheat beer gets. Paulaner is one of the biggest and oldest breweries in Bavaria, Munich specifically, and is very highly regarded (for good reason)!
Careful with the pour, as the head comes on rather strong!
Very dark golden color, almost amber, with a very prominent head.
Smell: VERY sweet. You can instantly smell sweet banana, a lot of citrus, even a hint of clove.
Taste: A smooth, clean, and very fresh tasting beer. My favorite Hefeweizen by far. It is so easy to find and at 5.50% ABV, it could easily be a great summer session beer, especially while watching a Bayern Munchen game! (Maybe I'm a little biased towards Germany).
As the wise beer connoisseur Joseph H. Somers once said, "Paulaner is killin' the Hefeweizen game!"
A great beer that I would highly recommend, especially if you are just being introduced to Hefeweizen. Unless you are Peter Rutkowski, in which case it isn't good enough.

I wonder if I have the temperature right. Looks and smells delicious, but the flavor is a little flat, and that's only enhanced by the distinctly fine feel of the carbonation in the mouth. Still, a beer I'd definitely revisit again.

I had this unbelievable beer directly in Munich, Germany for the first time... and I found myself asking, "Where has this beer been my whole life?" I never knew just how good German beer can be and now I have it on stock regularly. The smell is rich in what I can probably agree to being some type of banana. Whether it pours from draft or bottle (I've had both), it has a distinctive taste that it is of utter perfection, with really no weird transitions between initial taste and after taste. It is my current favorite beer, as nothing I've had (50+ different beers) so far in my life beats it. Maybe I'll find something one day I like more, but this stuff is incredible.

Having previously gone through inexpensive American beers (Coors, Budweiser, Miller, Michelob Ultra) prior, this was like upgrading from a run-down coach bus to a private jet.

Orange colour with a very good head of foam. The typical Weizen smell of cloves and banana. The taste is the real kicker here: If you were wondering why people associate Weizen with banana flavour, I'd suggest you try this one. Banana fenols bonanza. Very nice. Be sure to drink this one at a temperature of around 10C/50F though: bars tend to serve this gem at lower temperatures, which seems to ruin its fenol excellence. Better try this at home i guess ;).

Best Hefeweizen I've ever had. Been brewing this since 1564, so I'm pretty sure they've got it down by now! Color is absolutely gorgeous, a nice mix of yellow/orange. Really getting an apple undertone shining through in this one, making it very unique. Best way to drink is in a pint or Pilsner glass - pour 2/3 into one of those glasses, hold the glass at an angle. Next, take the 1/3 that's still in the bottle and swish it around, that way the yeast collects from the glass in the bottle. Finally, pour the rest in the glass to produce a nice head of foam and enjoy!

From bottle to pint glass. L: golden cloudy color with a fluffy white head that last throughout the drink. S: Light aromas of bananas, citrus, and mild spices. T: Sweet citrus then a light banana flavor pulls through quickly with some underlying spices. Would have preferred the carbonation to be slightly less. O: Good and refreshing. But nothing really memorable about this one. Probably wouldn't buy again

Veiled golden amber color with moderate activity. Thick foamy beige 3 finger head lasting around 10 minutes with good legs.

Aromas and flavors of citrus, fruits, grains, floral and herbal spices. Pleasant floral nose. Delicious sweet fresh grainy taste with fruits like lemon, orange and pineapple. Hints of banana, coriander and clove. Well balanced between sweetness and sharpness.

Slick medium body with perfect carbonation. Balanced finish ending with a slightly bitter clove like feel and pilsner spices lingering on the tongue.

Overall an excellent craft with a great look and smell with crispy delicious and complex flavors. Slightly pale and soft but well balanced and super fresh.

Poured a hazy golden color with a big thick, white head that lasts a good while and leaves some residual lacing behind. Smells of some citrus, I get a apricot like whiff, a bit of banana and some clove and spices. Taste of an abundance of wheat with spices and some citrus and apricot. Feeling is very smooth, light and not as intense as some hefe's with the spices. Overall this is a damn good beer that you should expect coming from Deutschland.

12oz bottle into a here glass
no bottling dates

A: Very hazy, a dark golden almost orange-brown tint, big 3 fingers width of off white colored head, good retention, and leaves a fair amount of lacing. 3.75

S: Estery banana, clove and other spice, subtle citrus. There something a bit off though, that smells like wet feet. Its not super pungent, but once I pick it up its hard to ignore. 3.5

T: Spice, fruity esters, lots of wheat characters, like the nose theres an off character that I can only describe as pungent cheese/stinky feet. 3.5

M/D: Fuller side of medium body, carbonation appropriate, pretty filling, drinkability is average. 3.5

O: Not bad, but disappointing. Plenty of great hefe’s out there, so I don’t think I’ll be revisiting this one again anytime soon. 3.5

Probably the most popular hefeweizen on the market today and could be found almost anywhere. It has average flavor but not a disappointment by any means. Great history with these German beers too.

Oh my god. I bought this from the grocery store in a make your own six pack just for the sake of trying something new. I thought it would be just another run of the mill beer. Wow was I wrong. Took the first sip and was blown away by the taste. This is incredible. The banana taste on the back end is incredible as well as a nice spicy, orangey taste up front. I might be biased because I was underestimating it so much, but this is truly a great beer

Appearance: a white, finger-width head with that dissipates into a thin white ring, leaving some nice spotty lacing. Unfiltered, and honey colored.

Aroma: sweet breadiness, white wheat, some grassy notes.

Taste: White wheat, with some grassy notes toward the middle; breadiness on the back end. Somewhere in there, in various places—mainly toward the beginning and end of the sip—I taste banana peel, especially in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel and finish: fluffy ale mouthfeel, semi-dry, and refreshing.
