Pours a cloudy, hazy, golden color with a head that hangs around a bit.

Smells like a hefe. Banana, cloves, a little caramel sweetness.

Tastes brilliant. Banana, cloves, bubble gum up front. Some citrus and booziness towards the back to balance it out.

Medium bodied

Great hefe. Well worth trying.

It poured a deep hazy golden hue with a full and fluffy head that I have come to expect from my Hefe’s. The aroma held cloves and the signature banana bubblegum notes. The taste followed the nose with more of the signature banana and bubblegum but the taste leaned more to the clove spicy side. The Paulaner Hefe-Weizen had a creamy body and mouthfeel that makes the Hefeweizens an enjoyable beer for me. While the flavor was a bit thinner than some I have had recently it still hit all the right Hefe notes and was a solid representation of the style. Of course it was light and easy to drink which makes it perfect for the summer Texas heat.

Cloudy orange gold pour with a one-finger white head. Nice yeast and spice aroma. Taste follows the nose with a really nice clove flavor upfront. Can also taste flavors of yeast, wheat, banana and a touch of lemon. Finishes dry with a nice lingering clove flavor.

12oz bottle served in a hefeweizen glass 9/1/2014.

A- Hazy, darker golden body with tons of carbonation emanating from within. Four finger white head, dense and thick with good retention. It eventually drops into a thick film and collar that doesn't go away for a while. Lots of rings of lacing. As far as I'm concerned, this is a classic hefeweizen appearance. [4.25]

S- Banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat, pale malt. Classic hefeweizen, strong nose. [4.25]

F- Wheat, freshly baked bread, bananas, cloves. A bit of noble hops round things out at the end. Not as much bubblegum as in the nose. Very flavourful, yet not terribly bitter. [4.25]

M- Medium-lighter body, plenty of carbonation. Not bitter, slightly dry and very refreshing. [4.25]

O- Very good example of a Bavarian hefeweizen, harkens back to my time living in Munich. Recommended especially if you find it fresh. [4.25]

Final score: 4.25
