Very pale, light straw color to the body and topped with a soft, foamy white head. Crisp, bright light grain notes in the aroma; dry grass. Slightly herbal flavor with a rather mild, light grain taste with a fairly bold hop bitterness. Light, crisp, clean and dry mouthfeel.

Nothing extraordinary as far as things go yet definitely drinkable and refreshing. Classic light malt and hop bitterness combination that will certainly satisfy folks looking for this traditional style of lager.

Poured into my Pilsner Urquell footed pilsner glass. Pours a clear golden with a creamy three finger head that leaves mild lacing behind. Had aromas of grainy cereal, sweet honey, and grassy hops. The mouth looses those grassy hops and enhances the sweet honey. Grainy and sweet all the way down, and a touch of bitterness finishes it up. This beer just slides down the throat with ease, and the honey aftertaste lingers for a long while.

Overall: A little less hoppy than I expect out of a german pilsner, but that did not ruin this excellent beer for me.

A great beer from a legendary brewery!

Pours a faint straw blonde with chalk white head that leaves very slowly.

Aroma leans more toward malt than hops. A slight wet dog and sweet corn impression.

Mouthfeel is crisp, clean and refreshing,

Tastes very similar to the aroma. Malty with a faint dank hop note. Some corn notes at the back of the tongue.

Final thoughts...a very tasty beer, but I would prefer a better balanced malt/hop character. Still an above average example for the style.

Poured two fingers of head on a clear, light straw colored body.
The aroma is a good dry grain with a touch of lemon.
The taste is quite smooth. A little mild bitterness throughout. It has a nice balance.
The texture is a little fizzy with a light body.
Enjoyable and easy drinking.

Appearance: White cotton foam that thins out into a delicate layer of lacing; almost like a lid sealing the rest of the flavors.

Smell: Lemon and a bit of caramel. Subtle and fresh. Fairly citrusy overall.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Sticky caramel biscuit-ness with a hint of lemon soap. Very sudsy and clean. Maybe a tad sticky in the finish, but it's fantastic overall.

Overall Drinkability: Excellent balance for a pilsener; hit's all the right notes.

11.2oz bottle into a pils glass. The brew pours a clear light yellow color with a finger of white head. The cap fades slowly leaving a full wall of lace on the glass. Rising bubbles maintain a thin film and a swirl revives a half finger and paints spotty lace.

The aroma is a mix of fresh cereal-like grain sweetness somewhat footy and cheesy with sulfur and herbs. The hops present themselves with a touch of grass and minerals. Overall a pretty typical smelling pilsner offering.

The flavor is malty with a bready to biscuit grain character that provides a soft sweetness contrasted by zesty herbal hops that are grassy and mildly rindy. Some carbonic quality and mineral across the back before finishing sweet with that fresh grain appeal.

This is a medium to lighter bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. Balanced, crisp and refreshing to say the least. This is not my favorite in the style but not bad by any stretch. I would drink this again.

not a bad beer, pours smooth and golden with lots of bubbles and a nice head that dissipates a bit too quickly. i liked the strong carbonation. nice and dry, hops are noticeable fore sure but not overpowering. a bit thinner then i like, the aroma i found a bit looking. if you want a break from pretty much all types of ales and are looking for a basic, crisp lager. this is a good choice, for some reason it makes me think of a beer i would order at a restaurant. would probably buy again.

On tap in Vail, Colorado into a pokal glass.

A-The brew is very light in color, not quite golden-hued yellow. It is crystal clear with a decent display of chunky carbonation. The head on my pour was about one finger tall and white. The brew leaves decent-sized chunks of lace on the glass.

S-This brew is dry on the nose, nearly chalky, with a little bit of cracker and biscuit. Hops are floral and very mild, as you would expect from a pils.

T-The taste is also on the dry side, verging on chalky and metallic. The biscuit/cracker malts mostly dominate any hop flavors that might be lurking here and the result is very crisp and very bitey.

M-The feel is light (although pretty typical for the style) with a chunky, assertive carbonation. Easy to drink.

O-This brew is a decent example of a German Pils. As noted above, it packs a bit too much dry malt flavor that mostly overwhelms any suggestion of hops. The taste is so dry that it verges on metallic and grainy, and while that is sort-of what I expect from a German Pils, a little more hop balance or sweetness would go a long way here.

Had this one on tap at a great German beer bar.
served in a tall Pilsner glass by a bartender who knows how to pour a pilsner. perfect head and clear yellow body
smell was great, bread and spicy hops were prominent
taste was near perfect, fresh bread with a dry biting finish. great on a hot afternoon
mouthfeel was perfectly balanced between the malt and hops. resin on the back end
overall this was a great beer, I have had it in bottles and it doesnt compare to the draft version. definitly a "much better on tap" beer.

I picked this up at Giant Beer Garden and Eatery enjoyed chilled in a pub glass from the brown 11.2 oz bottle with best before 3/14 date.

The color is bright golden with great clarity and thick white cap with great retention and thick lace on the glass with fine bead. The smell is light and floral hops have a mild aroma when slightly warm with mild grainy aroma. The feel is very good with dry body and moderate carbonation and mild sweetness with a decent amount of bitterness to give a nice texture for the malt to contrast.

The flavor starts somewhat on the light side but builds with mild malt toastiness and subtle spice in the hop flavor as it increases in temperature with some mild yeast flavor and herbal hop accents which have a slight floral edge. The freshness is there and malt is not too mellow and the hops contribute with a nice balance of bitter and sweet. Overall I was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and drinkability of this pils.

Best by 12/12.
Pours a chill hazed light golden with a frothy white head that dissipates a tad quickly, leaving spotty lacing.

Floral and slightly spicy hops accompany cracker-like pilsner malt initially, becoming fairly bready and a touch sweet at the finish. There's a hint of mineral character.

Flavor is more bready than anticipated throughout. There's substantial biscuity malt character, with mineral undertones, becoming cracker-like and dry at the finish. Slightly spicy notes surface in the aftertaste, along with a mineral tang.

Body is moderate, with fairly high carbonation.

Refreshing, but malt is more substantial and hop bitterness less present than in a pilsner. More of a helles, really. There's a bit of diacetyl that surfaces late. The tang was a bit offputting.

Pours out a clear golden colored body with a nice thick topping of white head that recedes to a thin cap that leaves some lacing.

The nose is met with a pleasant sweet bready and grainy malt with some earthy and herbal noble hop.

There is a nice mild hop bitterness. The hops deliver on the herbal side. Lots of bready malt character.

Easy drinking and light bodied. Carbonation is on point. A little dry.

Nice lil' German pils that's easy to get on this side of the pond. Would drink again. Wish I could get a maß of this.

500 ml bottle, poured into a weizen glass.

Large head but doesn't last too long and leaves a little lace. Clear, golden color. A lot of tiny bubbles rising constantly.
Smell and taste are pretty standard for a pilsner.
Body feels light to medium, smooth and well carbonated.

The best thing about this beer is the drinkability. It has a nice mouthfeel and is very refreshing. After you have a sip, it makes you want more.

Poured a 12 ounce iced bottle into a tumbler glass

Appearance: Slightly golden, straw yellow color with a thin, white head

Aroma: Sweet hops that reminds me of cotton candy. Hints of pineapple.

Flavor: Mild flavors with again a sweetness that is reminiscent of Jolly Ranchers candy with a faint finishing bitterness

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a lingering hoppy aftertaste that is quite enjoyable

Overall, this beer was much better than I was expecting. Flavor profile is unique to what I'm used to drinking and was easily drinkable. I will be buying more of this.

Served in a 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a yellow color with a billowing white head. The head faded slowly over time to give a medium amount of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is bready with an ever so light hint of caramel and some light hops aromas of floral, citrus and pine note.

Taste – The taste has a bready base through and through. At the start it is on the drier side with it sweetening more toward the middle with hints of honey. The sweet however is fleeting and leaves the taste again at the end. During the sweet taste transition a lighter hop and light spice flavor begins to develop. These developing flavors are light, but give a nice balance to the malt base. In the end a dry bready floral and spied flavor is left on the tongue. All the flavors and transitions are subtle, but all are quite nice.

Mouthfeel – The body is very light with the carbonation level being quite high. Both are fitting for the more subtle flavors and transitions.

Overall – It is very easy to drink and a fantastic session beer. Simple but good.

Best before 9/2012.

Pours a clear yellow with a foamy 1/2 inch beige head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, malt, and some cracker and bread aromas. There is also a slight Play-Doh aroma that comes out as the beer warms. Taste is pretty much the same with some herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but nothing too great in my opinion.

Pours a clean gold, with a nice white head and big loopy lacing -- not detailed, but appealing nonetheless.

Nose is bready and toasty. Exemplary malty lager.

Taste is clean and smooth -- malty but well-balanced with a light kiss of hops at the finish. A delectable and enjoyable pilsner.

Crystal clear light straw color with a good-sized white head that doesn't stay around long. Sparse lacing. Aroma of sweet, bready, grainy pils malt and noble hops -- yea about what you would expect.

Simple flavor of earthy, slightly spicy hops and a mild malt foundation. Not much else (which is to say a quality pilsner). Very good hop flavor for a German pils. Finishes just on the bitter side.

Light body and medium carbonation make for a super refreshing drink. The beer is very clean and straightforward. I have never seen this before, but if I do this summer, I will be grabbing a few sixers for those 90 degree Saturdays.

Best before 6/11. Oops. I forgot to check the date when I purchased this, but hopefully it's still good. Always checking the date if it's available should be rule number one when purchasing a beer.

Poured into a glass mug. Pours golden with a dissipating, fluffy white head. Plenty of bubbles stream to the top, indicating plenty of carbonation. Lacing is left on the glass as you drink this and a little lacing is retained at the top well into the consumption of this beer. The aroma is of lightly toasted barley malt and it is also grassy and a little sweet. The taste is bready and slightly sweet, with some hop bite. Obviously some of the hop character and other flavors have likely diminished due to the age of this beer, but I can still taste the distinctive characteristics I would expect from this beer. The mouthfeel is light and this is well carbonated. It's crisp and very drinkable. This is very easy to gulp down. This is a pleasing pilsner that I could enjoy on a summer day. Overall, this is a good beer.

A - Pours pale straw yellow with a generous off-white head that shows good retention.

S - A bit sulfuric after the pour, then the nose turns grassy and bready with a bit of corn-like sweetness coming through.

T - Grassy hops dominate the palate with a subdued bitterness. Bready malts create a solid backbone. Personally, I'd prefer more of a hop bite.

M - Medium-bodied with a smooth, clean finish.

O - Drinks more like a helles than a pils. The hop bite is lacking, but it's a solid beer overall. I have to lower the score a bit though due to the fact that this is labeled as a pilsner and not helles.

A - Pours a clear medium gold color. Nice two finger white head that got a fluff to it. Lots of bubbles coming up in columns. No lacing no big deal.

S - Lots of grains. Getting some grass and some bread as well. Lots of floral notes. Getting some sort of metal twang but it leads more towards a lemon zest in the end. I dig it.

T - Grassy, grainy, and all around very earthy. Bitterness is there but very mild. A bit sweet towards the finish.

M - Crisp and very refreshing. Lots of tingling bubbles and a light but not watery mouth feel.

O - I rarely have this beer. I'm beginning to question why. This one is above average. Very good. Next time I go finishing Im taking a sixer of this.
