A very good tasty creamy-like beer. W/O a doubt one of Germany's finest breweries. Have been to Munich and tasted a Paulaner first-hand and must say the bottles I brought home are even better and tastier than their tap version.
Very smooth and mild tasting which only gets better as one consumes. I believe I paid 1 euro for this 1/2 pint beer.

A: Pours a cloudy brown that is quite beautyful, with a cream head and good retention.
S: Banana and some citric smells with some spices.
T: Follows the smells with banana and citric feels, but with a lot of bread and herbal flavours.
M: Spicy and refreshing with some tropical banana and citric aftertaste.
O: A very balanced beer, not too watery and not too heavy, but exactly in the middle experience. A very good beer with a real soul.

Rich cloudy and chocolatey brown. Creamy tan head is thick and reminiscent of whipped cream. Hints of Banana in the nose.
Smooth and refreshing with a citrus bitterness. Bitterness coaxed out with sliver of lemon. Slightly roasted flavor with hints of clove and vanilla. Very refreshing.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this in Carrefour; I was there to look for the Leffe Brune
and ended up purchasing a Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel and KristallKlar weizens beers.
I tried this beer in my 50cl Schneider Weiss weizen glass; the Dunkel Weizen pours out a dark
shade of brown with a typical big white weizen head with average retention. Spices including
cloves and a slight wheat maltiness forms the smell emanating from the opening of the weizen
glass; the spicey smell reminds me very vaguely of the Hoegaarden Witbier smell. The taste
was quite a party for the mouth; for the first time I finally understood the banana taste that
German hefe-weizen drinkers preach of! Perhaps my pellates have matured over time or maybe this
beer is strong on the weizen taste. In addition to the banana taste was the spices and the
wheat malts and very subtle yeastiness; very nice. The body of this beer is slightly off medium
body like any other weizens and there is a light yet apt amount of carbonation giving it a
good mouthfeel; this dunkel weizen is very smooth to drink as well. The after taste was mainly
wheat malts and a slight banana like taste which was again a pleasant experience. All of a
sudden, I am getting curious about the weizenbock style of brewing; I believe an apt mix of the
hefe-weizen and bock brewing style would become my favourite style for German weizens; we'll
see. I am looking forward to try the Aventinus.

Paulaner dunkel, brought this back from a short trip to Germany recently. I thought I'd try it next to Erdinger dunkel today.
0.5 l bottle.
Looks orange brown, hazy, nice fluffy head, good carbonation, in my Weihenstephaner glass.
Smell is malts, biscuits, some banana and cloves.
Taste is similar, with some fruit notes as well. Not much hoppy bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Clean aftertaste of bittersweetness.
Alcohol is hardly noticable, making this an excellent drink.
As far as German breweries are concerned, there are a couple (maybe 5) that make summer enjoyable.
Paulaner is one of them.

The colour is shady medium brown with a tint of orange. The brown three finger thick foam sinks slowly down to a thin lid.
The smell is roasted with notes of black pepper, allspice and other spices, some sour wheat dough.
The taste is sweet and somewhat burned. There are spicy notes of allspice, sour wheat notes and some aroma hops. The medium long aftertaste is creamy with notes of dough and some yeast. Very refreshing.
The mouthfeel is creamy with a fresh carbonation; the bubbles are very small.
One of the better weizens that I have come across.
