500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass by freshness date.

A:
Hazy coppery color with an amber hue, the pour creates moderate thick light tan head with average retention. Once settled, there are some clingy lacing patches and spots inside of the glass, high carbonation.

S:
So aromatic, ripe and inviting; the nose senses big banana bread, mellow fruit ester, caramelized malt, hint of cocoa and dark chocolate, dough and some clove spice.

T:
Banana ester, fruitiness and citrus zest ride through the start while malt components reinforce by lending a hint of crackery note. Hop bitterness is mute, just barely discernible. Slight tart at the end is derived from the ester of yeast strain.

M:
The body is light to medium with fine crispness from lively carbonation, dry finish.

O:
Good but not that great however indeed a worthy pick, eminent aroma is the best part of it.

500ml bottle that I brought directly from Bavaria about a month ago... Poured it into my Paulaner wheat beer glass.

A - Looks pretty much like a dunkelweizen should: cloudy medium-brown in colour, with a rich, marshmallow-like, fluffy head. Some nice lacing and pretty solid head retention.

S - Smells pretty similarly to their original hefeweizen: lots of yeast, caramel; some banana and clove; maybe, a hint of chocolate and raisins.

T - Starts out yeasty and clovey; then comes the ripe banana-like sweetness, with hints of caramel. The after-taste is bready (with plenty of wheat) and has got some nice lingering chocolate notes.

M - Slightly lighter than Medium body, which makes it thicker than the regular hefe-weissbier. The carbonation is quite noticeable at first, but then it diminishes a little and I begin to really enjoy every sip. No hint of alcohol. Crisp on the tongue yet quite smooth on the palate.

O - This might not be the most flavourful weissbier dunkel, but it's probably my favourite. I love its smoothness and its great sessionability. It's a shame I can't get it in my region +(

Appearance: Cloudy dark brown body with some off white carbonation bubbles floating towards the top. This beer had excellent head retention so much so it was hard to notice the lace. It looked amazing.

Smell: It did not have much of an aroma at all. Some grain, caramel and maybe a bit of clove but you really had to dig deep to get it.

Taste: Mild at first but then you get some caramel banana flavor.

Mouthfeel: It is an easy to drink beer. The body would be on the lighter side of medium.

Overall: It was great very refreshing and went well with some curry wurst.
