I will have to admit at first I was afraid to try a kristallklar weizen and talk about bad luck it started as soon as I bought it. I went to the local trinkmart and bought this and on the way home the cap came off and started leaking around my car I thought for sure this is not a beer for me and that was the sign. Weizen beers to me should have the yeast on the bottom of the bottle and before you pour it you roll the bottle around to mix it up that's what gives it the flavor.
With this beer I would have to rate it as one of the top weizen I have tasted, the filtering suprisingly had no effect besides the fact that it was easier to pour. The look was a cloudy golden color with a strong bannana aroma but not overpowering to turn you away. The taste was bursting with different flavors with bannana barely noticeable. One thing you will notice is that, atleast in my opinion weizen beers feel the best in your mouth and going down your taste pallat with this particular selection being no different. With only one downfall to drinking weizen beers I would recomend this on highly for a strong wheat beer taste. OH ya that downfall is you get extremely bloated if you have more than three or four of these or any weizen beer so be prepared to have other beers in the fridge and remember you better pick something that you really like because as you will learn in wine tasting you start with the low quality and only work up so please don't torcher your taste buds after this fine german wheat beer.

Pours clear pale yellow, streaming with small carbonation bubbles and huge white head with excellent retention, patchy lacing. Aroma is sweetish banana, spicy as well as weak wheat.
Taste is clean banana, hints of vanilla, wheat and dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium with slightly more than average carbonation that helps to accentuate hints of spice that can be better felt after midway through the glass.
A decent Kristallweizen, one of the best I have had. Its flavour is much stronger if compared to other filtered Weizen beers.

Poured a consistent and nice head. Golden color and the label says it is not hazy once this Weiss was filtered.
Aroma predominantly banana and a hint of cloves and condiments.
Refreshing taste, not very sweet. It has a zesty flavor, mildly bitter (you can feel its hops!) and with some species. Even though was filtered you can still taste the yeast. Harmonious ending, a little dry. Definitely a top notch weissbier extremely well balanced and still off the beaten path. Really liked this beer.

Great Weißbier. Yesterday was a hot day in Holland and we ate pizza's outside. Mrs. Brabander and i drank this beer in the original glass.
Wonderfull beer only to look at. Light sweetness and light carbonation. Citrus. Five fingers head but that is very easy to get with this beer.
This is one of the better German Weißbeers that you can get on the market.

Beer bottle (50 cl.), tasted in 2001.
Appearance : A light yellow color, with a white foamy head.
Smell : sweet malty and wheaty aroams, with a light grainy note. Taste and mouthfeel : sweet malty and wheaty flavours, a light spiced note.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style Pale filtered wheat beer (Kristalweizen).

A foamy head fades into a fine white collar on an almost transparent yellow golden body. The smell shows wheat and some roasted malts with light hints of caramel. The taste is of wheat, slightly citric, iodated, and I thought it lacked a sweeter note. The mouthfeel is very round and ends in a dry way. Theres an impression of banana and grapefruit mixed together, but more with the citrus of the grapefruit than with the sweetness of the banana. Hops are faintly noticeable, but they contribute to the dryness of the finish in a decent (but not great) manner. Its still a quite drinkable brew, but it seems that it could be improved easily.
