Appearance: Light rustic amber in color. Good clarity. Two-inch head settles quickly leaving a few straggler bubbles behind.
Smell: An alluring aroma of earthy malts, day-old biscuits, and a pinch of yeastiness. As it warms, I'm smelling more and more caramel.
Taste: Honey and sweet toasted grains in the forefront, with a touch of cinnamon, followed by a dry (though gentle) hop finish. Alcohol is hardly apparent at all.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. The carbonation, though a bit low, helps to give it a little extra life on the tongue.
Drinkability: Simple, flavorful, and light. Ultimately, its all very refreshing. Buy yours today!
(Or preferably, have someone else go buy it for you.)

Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen – Märzen (5.8%) – Paulaner (Germany)
App: Pours an absolutely clear amber brown with a one finger white head that dissipates quickly leaving a soapy ring of foam and minimal lacing up the glass. Pretty standard looking.
Smell: Sligtht breadiness with some high buttery aromas. Light hints of caramel and molasses. Deep grain aromas typical of darker lagers. Dark honey like sweetness as beer warms.
Taste: Essentially follows nose with considerably more intensity. Sweet overall with massive honey, molasses, and burnt sugar flavors. Malts are slightly bready overall with a definitive grain taste. Hops are hidden behind sweetness and only reveal themselves in the aftertaste which turns a sweet fore and true taste into a pleasantly balanced after taste that is clean and crisp. Raw wort comes through a lot, as the lager yeast doesn't muck it up. Fairly light and drinkable overall, but very well balanced.
Mouth: Medium to medium-heavy for the style. Thick, but doesn't cling to the palate. Carbonation is medium-heavy as well and makes for a very refreshing brew.
Home tasting, 11.2oz bottle into Tulip. 2/7/14
