A: Pours into the pint glass with a fluffy two finger head that slowly dissipates into a light froth, leaving lacing along the entire glass. This marzen is light brown/orange/amber in hue with barely visible carbonation. The color is homogeneous throughout and there is little murkiness and no visible sediment.
S: There is a distinct scent of cinnamon or similar spices in the nose along with some lightly toasted breadiness. No detectable hop presence.
T: Malt sweetness upfront, with something bordering on the tang of tangerine or apricot. Very mild hops in the aftertaste (and mild aftertaste in general). No dryness afterwards.
M: Light, but not watery, for there is a rich malt body that we encounter as the beer rolls around in our mouths. Carbonation is "there," but not vigorous or displeasing in the least. Smooth, but lacking in crispness; perhaps could have benefitted from slightly more hops.
D: Eminently drinkable, this is like a well-made piece of lightly spiced bread in liquid form.
