I had never had a double bock but a strong imported beer seemed like a promising endevor.
A - Gorgeous garnet color that looked like a mix between an amber and a brown. Fine off-white head that had some staying power.
S - Delicious malt and caramel notes held your nose. Some alcohol and lager yeast tones were there but in much less quantity.
T - A powerful mixture of malt, caramel, and smooth lager flavor. No real hops to this beer just the malty flavors come through. The characteristic lager flavor is also present but isn't as predominant since it is mostly masked by the full malt assault. There is a light bitterness but it is definitely on the sweet sided making it a good desert beer or as the monks used it, liquid bread!
M - Medium mouth-feel but it should be heavier with the malt bill but the lager yeast really smooths it out. The substantial body and sweetness make this beer not something I could drink more than a couple of but would enjoy it up until then. Moderate to light carbonation is perfect for this style because you don't want acidity to fight the malty goodness.
Overall, a delicious beer if you want a sweet beer that has an amazing lineage. It's definitely a great beer for the price at only $2.50 a pint it's a steal if you like to get drunk on craft beer. I would recommend this to anyone

Appearance- Dark caramel with a slight red hue. Almost no head produced.
Aroma- Big whiff of sweet toasty malts.
Taste- Malt dominates this one with big caramel flavors and dark fruit like raisins and plum.
Feel- For such a malt bomb this is very clean and very drinkable.
Overall- Great beer and while heavy on the malt it works perfectly. Incredibly drinkable especially at 8%, which could make this a little dangerous. Definitely worth a try, and I know Ill be getting this again.
