I had another of the bottles from this sixpack last evening. I tasted a lot better than the first bottle I had that I reviewed. Better head, better lacing. The beer was still a bit "rough around the edges", but It seemed to be more of what I expected. Perhaps the first bottle I had from the sixpack was just a bad bottle?

Poured a bottle into a pilsner glass.
Not nearly as dark as I was expecting. More of light amber color, similar to a marzen/Octoberfest. 3/8" head which dissipated quickly. No lacing.
Malty, alcohol smell. Not much hoppiness, as to be expected.
Sweet, malty taste, with a more bitter aftertaste than Celebrator or Optimator. Not as smooth. The beer is still quite cold, will have to wait for a while to let it warm and see how it tastes...
...becoming more malty as it warms...
...okay, it has been warming for a while. I can't believe how overpowering the alcohol has become. It really smacks you in the face, almost like rubbing alcohol!
Carbonation is quite pronounced. Kind of a thick mouthfeel followed by a dry finish. Alcohol was apparent. Not really clean feeling.
Not as drinkable as Celebrator or Optimator. I was a bit dissappointed. I've been waiting all day to get home from work to try this, but it's not as good as I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good beer, but I think I prefer Optimator (for similar price, or Celebrator, if I splurge.
