Labeled as Oktoberfest Bier in Germany and Oktoberfest Wiesn in the US.
This full bodied golden Oktoberfest lager is the only beer served in Paulaner Oktoberfest tents today. It is the pinnacle of German brewing: wonderfully mellow with a balanced harmonious taste. It has a strong note of malt and the pleasant fragrance of hops.

Awesome 1L can into stein. Love it.
Pours clear gold with a one-finger, fluffy white head that fades quickly into a thin layer of soapy suds with nice lacing. Looks pretty much exactly like it's supposed to.
Nose is has a nice, light herbal hoppiness to it, alongside a light pale malt sweetness that has just a bit of honey. Fairly light.
Taste follows the nose - nice balance, with the hop character combining the herbal characteristics from the nose with a nice, grassy bite towards the front of the palate as well. Malt character is perhaps a bit more forward than in the nose - again, pale malt with just a bit of honey. Finish has another grassy hit, just a bit of alcohol, just a bit of grainy cereal malt.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, maybe just a hair on the light side, with a nice, light creaminess. Carbonation is certainly reserved, but really works beautifully with this one. There's a very light lingering dryness after the finish starts to fade.
Drinkability is spectacular. Beautifully flavorful, great balance, excellent mouthfeel. Nice to get a German beer like this where you actually know how long it's been on the shelf - beautifully fresh. Love it, beautiful beer.

When I think of the most popular beers to enjoy at Oktoberfest, this beer ranks at #1 on my list.
Look: Golden clear straw color, very easily compared to the Paulaner wheat beer.
Smell: The smell is of a very hoppy beer with light german malts and I do get a very pronounced biscuit like smell.
Taste: It honestly does not taste that bad at all, aside from the hops that biscuit smell really comes out on the taste. Aside from that, theirs honestly not much to it, I dont get much floral or citrus flavors if any.
Feel: Its a little bitter at the very end, but overall its easy to drink, its an authentic German beer and it has a decent taste to it.
Overall: Every year, il likely get at least a few small cases of this beer, its not my go to beer by any means, but its not a bad beverage either. This is not a beer to enjoy on a hot sunny day or anything, rather its a good *day drinking beer* in that if you plan on getting a good buzz going then this might be the beer for you. Overall I will give this a 3.75

Poured from a 500ml bottle.
Pours a clear light straw with high visible carbonation and a thin white head. The smell is very grassy and the taste has grass, malt , hops and a decent amount of acidity followed by a hint of bitterness at the end . Smooth and highly carbonated this beer is pretty moreish. Full flavoured and refreshing.

Poured a 500ml can into a nonic. A two finger white head on a clear straw. The head diminishes to a layer. Lots of patchy lacing.
Grainy malt smells.
German malts up front. Very mild hop finish.
Light body. Medium carbonation.
A decent Festbier.

This is going to be one of my stranger reviews. Paulaner Wiesn is not a beer I plan to buy again. This beer is meant to be drinkable in warm weather, and there are better German beers for that purpose. That said, this is THE Oktoberfestbier. It is the progenitor of the style and yardstick against which all others should be measured. I just do not much care for it.
It pours a light golden from the can with a relatively slim and quickly fading head. The smell is definitively malt with some hoppy spice. The same is true of the taste. Smell and taste are better than the Weihenstephaner Festbier, with more depth in the malt and a more nuanced of faint hops flavor. Mouthfeel is the best part of this for me, given that so many beers aiming for lightness are also watery.
This is a great Wiesn, I just don’t think Wiesn are very good.

Picked up a four-pack from the Fresh Market in Hendersonville 9-5-23 for $9.99. No can date; consumed can #1 for review 10-8-23.
Beer poured gold with a beautiful white head.
Nose is nice as the malt base gives a crackers and bread aroma.
Taste is crackers and bread up front with a noble hop addition that does a great job balancing yet leaving a touch of sweetness that nails the style brilliantly.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and is refreshing.
Overall a lovely Fest brew that pairs well with NFL football!

Pint can into a mug;. Clear pale straw color with a small white head that quickly faded to a thin film. Toasty malt and cracker aroma with a hint of honey and melon. Bready malt flavor with some mildly astringent hop bitterness. Extremely well-balanced, smooth, and very drinkable; I can certainly envision myself slamming one too many of these at a fest.
