Muncie, Indiana now has two excellent beer bars. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

The Fickle Peach is an establishment that resides in a particularly gorgeous - if ragged - historical budiling that the owners deserve credit for bringing back to life. The facade of this building has a life of its own, speaking to you from this area's golden age.

The inside of this establishment is quite 'green' and underwhelmingly decorated but what do expect for it being less than three weeks old? Some beer bric-a-brac and mirrors are intertwined with Greatful Dead posters and Sam Adams neon bar-lights. The restoration of the place is wonderful - everything seems new and clean but still speaks to the historical nature of the building...tin ceilings loom high and even a restored vault. Cute, quiet little tables, a gorgeous bar, and even a pool table. Unlike the other beer bar in Muncie, this is a place to take a date. Clean, sparkling-new restrooms, fans keeping the cigarette smoke very managable, and great beer ambiance.

And the beer. On-tap: Harp, Bass, Guinness, Maudite, Framboise, Bell's Amber, Bell's Porter, Three Floyds' Alpha King, Upland Wheat. Though you could argue that Harp Bass and Guinness are macro's in disguise there is no crap-on-tap...which in the midwest is REMARKABLE.

The bottled list is also quite respectable. I didn't take a copy but at least 30 micros and good imports.

No food as of now but that will change. Great atmoshpere, great beer on-tap, a pool table...now this place is amazing and has a shit-ton of potential.

The owners are clearly in the know about beer and love beer talk. They are training new servers which don't seem quite as knowledgable but i'm sure they will be.

If you're in Muncie, definetely hit this place up. I'm sure the beer geek quotient will only increase too.

The Fickle Peach is in a hundred year old building that used to be a bank so the inside has a lot of character from the tin plated ceiling to the huge custom mirror and wooden back bar. They have about twenty five to thirty beers on draft with a nice mix of locals and allocated items. They also offer pool and a couple other games. They also have a great staff which makes this one of the best places to drink in Muncie. They don't serve food but they often have a food truck or other service available outside.

We were directed here by the bartender at Heorot. I didn't get into their bottle list, but the draft selection was great, and the owner/bartender was very friendly.

They are interested in the white collar crowd. I am sure happy to spend my money somewhere else. You get better service at the Heorot, Valhalla, and Savages.

You won't find a better balance in Muncie of all things that make a bar immaculate than The Fickle Peach.

Sure, you'll hear cries of better selection from lovers of the The Heorot Pub and Draught House, and you will always have advocates of Savages Ale House because of the hip atmosphere and delicious pub grub. However, the quality of service and classier setting of The Fickle Peach blow everything else in Muncie out of the water. This is just my opinion, of course.

The atmosphere is a terrific combination of old and new, and is appealing to people of all ages...which is exactly what FP attracts. The bar is long, clean, and always pristine-looking.

An inviting, always rotating chalk board of selections on tap is displayed directly behind the bar seating, and the variety offers something for everyone. Some of the higher ABV/rarer beers can get steep on pricing, but the experience you get here more than makes up for it.

Which gets us to the most outstanding part of the The Fickle Peach: the service. To say that the bartenders here go above and beyond for their patrons would be an understatement. I've been to a lot of bars in Indiana, and the one aspect that cripples my overall enjoyment with them is the service. There is sadly a lack of really attentive and knowledgeable bartenders in our area of the world, so the effort that the people at Fickle put out on a nightly basis looks even more fantastic when you stop in. Craig and Dylan are always excellent, whether the place is slow or hammered busy. These guys just do it the way it's supposed to be done.

Although it can be a little pricey with some beers at FP, the overall experience makes up for it in spades. Go here when in Muncie.

The Fickle Peach is my 2nd favorite bar to go to in downtown Muncie, although I have yet to go to the Herot, but it is a excellent place to relax drink some great beer and play some pool. What I love about this place is that they have 3 pool tables so one is usually open to play on. Tap selection is also great and rotates fairly good. The first time I went they had hopslam on tap and thats kind of were all of this began for me. I dont know exactly how many taps they have but it was a lot, Gumballhead, Alpha King, and Pride and Joy are always on tap along with some Upland beers. First time I went they also had a special tap of some kind of GI that I didnt get but a friend of mine did, not sure what it was but it tasted like a RIS. Overall a really good place to drink some great beer.

THe Fickle Peach. This is a great bar that is always hopping. The usall older crowd or professors and musicians can be seen here. They have 3 pool tables so you can shoot alittle pool while yo drink a great brew

They have lots of carry out six packs and about 20 or so Taps. They always get the seasonal stuff in and have specials on great craft beer everyday.

The only complaint i have is you leave there smelling like a horrible ashtray but its a bar so what should i expect i guess. This is a great place to have a some craft beer! The staff is very frindly and knowledgeable!

Don't be fickle! Hit the Peach up!

The Fickle Peach is one of two places in Muncie, IN that I visit when in the mood for consuming a few drinks in a social environment. It falls in second place to the Heorot (it's hard to compete with the selection, atmosphere, and history of the Heorot). But, it's definitely a worthy stop for fellow beer lovers. And, it's a bit more trendy. So, there's a better chance of getting your date to agree with visiting this place.

I always encourage Ball State students to head downtown, rather than slum it at the campus bars. The Fickle Peach is a place where a beer snob can easily be satisfied.

The atmosphere teeters between a traditional pub and a sports bar. The quality and is outstanding. The drinks are always fresh and well served. The selection is nice, especially for a small mid-western town. I've not had the food. The menu seemed pretty typical for a bar. Nothing really grabbed my eye (or my stomach) and said, "You need to try this."

I'm told that it's a pretty happening place. But, every time I've been there, I've been one of a handful of people in the joint. I don't mind that. And, I keep a bizarre schedule. So, my going out for a drink nights differ greatly from others.

I would definitely encourage people to give the Fickle Peach a try.

On a recent stop here I was equally impressed by the Fickle Peach & the Heorot, located within walking distance of each other.

The place had a double-door corner entrance, with a vintage-style mural above the door. Once inside, it had a distinct mellow and classy vibe. There was eclectic art on the walls, couches, and a pretty sizeable bar. There were three tap towers, with quite a few interesting taps (definitely more than 10). The nice thing about the selection was that it was clearly handpicked for quality. There was Gumballhead, several Bells, Upland Ar Dri, and Warbird Mustang Golden, off the top of my head. There was a 2-sided beer list that had a ton of options, again all quality stuff. Even a vintage section for Lees Harvest ales and Le Coq Stout from '99-'01 (be careful with those).

There was a second room with booths and a pool table. The back wall of the bar area was covered in tin beer signs, and one flatscreen that wasn't imposing. Service was top notch, and the bartender was more than willing to talk beer. The eclectic crowd was a mix of regulars, beer people, and a few students. A limited menu had some good options, such as brats with kraut and mustard.

Overall a very relaxing and comfortable place, I will return again one day.

This is my favorite local watering hole..Great beers on draft and super cool bartenders.Bell's,Three Floyds,Imports,BBC..all on draft and others in the cooler..This is a newer establishment and a great drinking atmosphere. Owners are very knowledgeable on beers and can pull that special brew out of the back as well.If you go in on a Sunday or evening weekends you might get luck enough to catch a live recording of The Good Beer Show which refers to the Fickle Peach as Studio B..Say hello to Brian and Chris one of the 2 is always there they are the owners and both are way cool! The Peach actually has 26 beer on draft and are exceptional craft beer rotating pulls so if you're in Muncie or even driving by it's worth a stop and tell them Bonus Beer Bob sent ya!

I went here a few days ago while I was on vacation. They had quite a bit of beers on tap and good selection of bottles. It used to be a old bank and the vault is changed into where they store their beer. They have 2 pool tables which were actually nice for quarter tables (most quarter tables in Vegas are junk). It wasn't really busy but did have a decent amount of people in there. As we were leaving the atmosphere was a lot better than when we first came in. Also I only saw 3 guys in their group drinking fizzy yellow beer. All others had some micro brew. I was very impressed. I would advise stopping in here but defiantly go check out the Heorot if you are in town.
