Stopped in on Thursday 3-23 based on listing and recommendations from BA. A nice big open feeling market with many differnet counters. Deli, Cheese, Sandwiches, Salads, Hot Foods, etc. A nice bar that sells wine by the glass and one cooler of beer. Many singles and a 8.95 price to mix a six. There is an area where you can take your purchases and sit and eat. We arrived at the traditional lunch time and it was busy. The staff made our sandwiches quickly, cashed us out, and we found a place to sit and eat and drink.. I would definitely do this again.

***UPDATE*** I was just killin' time and decided to take a look at good ole Southern Market's web site. The website was closed, so I did a Yahoo search and came across the following article which seems to indicate the store has closed. Just wanted to save you a disappointing detour, if you planned on stopping by.

MY ORIGINAL REVIEW (this place will be missed if I return to vacation to Myrtle Beach):
Definitely a good place to stop by for a decent selection of local brews, including multiple selections from Carolina Beer & Beverage, Charleston Brewing Co., Highland Brewing Co., and Palmetto Brewing Co. In addition, they had Brooklyn Lager, Saranac, Sierra Nevada and a few other import and domestic craft brews. They sell singles, six-packs, or "create your own" sixers for $7.99.
The following links will take you to photos of the beer racks, so you can get some idea of the selection:

The food selections at this place are also incredible--from the full service bakery to the fully stocked deli to the fresh seafood stand, to shelves of exotic spices, and scrumptious prepared dishes. It is primarily set up as a market, but there is also a very nice alcove of tables and booths where you can heat up your food in their microwaves and take a window seat to enjoy your lunch (including your beer).
While vacationing at the Hilton, this place was a lifesaver. No place else around had anything but BMC and the odd Shiner or Yeungling selections. If I were rating it based on what else was available in the area, it would be fives across the board. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. It's located at the corner of Kings Hwy. and Lake Arrowhead Rd., across a large parking lot from Kroger and a strip of other stores and restaurants.
