The atmospere is what makes this place. It is a very small bar but is laid out well and homey feeling. This place definately has a family atmosphere to it, meaning that everyone knows everyone. It was obvious to all, that my group was not part of the regulars, but my the end of the night they had us feeling like we were a part of the family. We went on a Sat. night for the trivia. The trivia is half trivia and half comedy. It is so much fun, I definately plan on going back. The service is very friendly, but was limited to just 2 bartenders you also act as wait-staff.
The beer selection is not to be over looked. While having to deal with SC's archaic laws the selection is very good. I "think" I counted 30 taps. All craft beers except one yuengling and one pbr. They serve all RJ Rocker's beers and have RJ Rockers growlers to go. They also had Terrapin Rye PA and several foreign beers on tap. They are 2 coolers full of bottles of mostly craft beers. The bottle selection is better than most SC beer stores I've been in. You can tell the owner is into craft beer. I didn't really see any food other than chex mix. During the trivia RJ pints were 2.50. That's a deal if you ask me.
We drove more than an hour to get to this place and it's worth it. I recommend you go on a Sat. night for the trivia.

So I finally made it down to Terrys Tap Room! I mean cmon the place is like 20 mins from my house, has its own mug and beer club, and over 200 beers?!?! And I just made it there now, after 2 years living here? You have got to be kidding me. Anyway I was thrilled to finally be able to drop in and see what this place was all about. I got in at Happy Hour and proceeded to sit at the end of the bar. The place is small, very quaint and nice. Just a long L shaped bar, a couple small tables, a couple video games, a Karokee stage and thats about it. Rather un assuming from the door. But you need to look deeper. At the far left wall there is a set of 35 taps, every RJ Rockers brew made, as well as a bunch of other micros (Abita, Brooklyn, etc) was thrilled to find that they had the Rockers Double IPA which I had never been able to have before, so you know that was the first thing I had, very yummy, see the review. There were two large coolers that were over flowing with brews right behind the bar. Something ridiculous like 170 different bottles. Kinda nuts actually. Lots of stuff you dont see around much (Coopers) and the normal rogue and what not selctions. Did not see much in the way of food, except for Pizza, which suits me just fine. Mug club was awesome. 35 bucks and you get a 20oz glass engraved mug and a t shirt to take home. Everytime you come in you get another mug to drink from, and always get like 2 bucks off Rockers brews, pretty sweet. Also had a world tour thing where once you complete it you get a personalized shirt, and your name on a brass plaque. Thats pretty sweet. Did I mention 10 dollar growler fills as well?? Very nice place. Overall I was very impressed. They had a ton of good brew, very quite local place, great atmosphere. I would defiantly recommend making a stop in there is you are in the area, just seemed like a really cool place to hang out, and grab a growler of the double IPA while you are there

Man, where do I start? I was a bit skeptical of this place but am I ever glad I stopped in. It is a bit hard to find. I drove by the first time. I was only stopping in for a growler but how could I leave? The place is not all that big. There were about 10-12 tables plus the bar and a lounge at the front with a bigscreen t.v. and a couple couches. Saturday night is R.J. Rockers Trivia night and you can bet I will be back for this sometime. This was part Jeopardy and part inpromtu comedy. The service was pretty good. The folks were all freindly and willing to talk to a newcomer. I will return to Terry's. A pleasant suprise tonight. Well worth the two hour drive.

This place is a decent place to go to if you want to try new beers in spartanburg, SC. There's not a lot of options in SC due to our 6% laws, however Terry's offers a good selection of around 300 beers ( or so they claim ). They generally have 20 on tap, and the rest are bottles and growlers. They do have good specials like $2.50 on all taps on Wed. No food besides the bar chex mix stuff. You can usually find locals and people that enjoy talking about beer and wine. Not too crowded until Saturday morning at 2 AM to 4 AM since they are the only bar around open past 2. Fun experience if you want broader selection.

Terry's is located in a strip mall next to a grocery store and several other stores. There is a sign that says Terry's Tap Room near the road, but the lettering is so small and cluttered together, this place may be hard to find. It took me two or three times to find it.
A very small bar. A couple of couches are on the left as you walk in, along with a big screen tv in front of the couches. The bar area is about the only other seating here. It was very smoky. I think this place is most frequented by regulars. There are pictures of all of them everywhere. Nice waitress. Everyone seemed to be a bit rough around the edges. Friendly but different and weird and scruffy. That is the only bad thing
Lots of choices for beers. The have the local RJ Rockers selections. They have specials all through the week and happy hours. They also have a mug club wherein you purchase a mug and membership and get discounts on the RJ Rockers selections. I didnt think that was worth the money since I am in Spartanburg only once or twice a month. I did leave with a growler of RJ Rockers beer. Very nice.
A great place to grab a pint or two. It will be extremely smoky and loud though due to its small size.
